It's so wild to me when people say non-Asians should be excluded from Kpop since a lot of K-pop music is directly inspired by music by Western/black artists. You want black and Western influences but you don't want black or Western people in K-pop? Uhhhh ok......

@@n.b3366 I don't find that right either. I think K-Pop should differentiate itself from other industries. They should not be inspired, they should be original. Also only Asians should be idols. There should be foreign idols and inspiration should be taken from the West if necessary, but this should be done in a way that does not disrupt kpop's own style.

@@ryuniss Well if you want K-pop to differentiate itself from Western industries then the K-pop groups you know and love today are going to be 100% different. There would be no pop, rnb and hiphop influences (as all of these genres were invented by the West) and these idols would be playing traditional folk instruments. Lmao it's IMPOSSIBLE for K-pop to differentiate itself from Western genres of music. The first generation of K-pop rose because these groups/entertainment companies were inspired by hiphop and rnb from the West

What I mean is that kpop idols are treated like western artists or kpop idols act like that. After all, there are tons of differences between an American singer and a kpop idol.

Okay first of all, those people should stop throwing hate at JYP because they didn't add Gina. I like Gina and thought she would debut but just because she trained at JYP doesn't necessarily mean they need to debut her; she is a trainee so maybe in the near future they might put her in another group. Even I liked her music video FREEDOM when she is a JYP trainee, but the music video was catchy. And Y.O Universe might not be entertaining for some people but if u say it sucked or it wasn't nice add 'For me' to that statement.

Hard to agree on that they all fit into the stereo type of K-pop girl groups’ standard. If you were long enough K-pop fans you would be understand what I mean.

I know that Kpop has a very strict standard of beauty. However as you see, fans wanted another dark skinned idol to debut, like Fatou, however all of these "global" girl groups, they only have people with light/tan skin tones, small bodies, etc. When people want something different. This is from what I've found around, and I've put it together. (Ps. I'm a kpop Stan of 5 yrs)

I was saying it as a sort of complement to JYP and his strategical confidence because a attractiveness standard in US can be different, although sterotype K-pop baeuty was what attracted global stans from the get go. I personally would like to see someone like super Karismasic women like a choreographer Gabee. A kind “ Nuna “ but who can kick my butt if I am not doing things well. I never liked K-pop so much until Twice. And It’s really interesting to look at how things happen and how members evolve and grow over a time, from a business point of view. And as a human I do really respect all of idols as survivors and those who are with strong will and diligence , no matter what how successful they are.

It’s crazy how people get hung up on Kaylee’s age forgetting that most of the group they Stan ARE MINORS, yes 17 is a minor so wtf are people feeling weird about? I’m more concerned for her because the industry can be brutal but no one should be having any sort of weird thoughts about minor 14, 16 or 17 they’re all children. About kg; cultural appropriation? Really? People that live in the real world know that women of all races wear braids especially in New York. Why don’t people approach them in the streets and preach to them about cultural appropriation 😂 I grew up in Jamaica, with a lot of different and mixed races and almost every girl wear braids including white and Asian Jamaican (yes there are whites, Asian, Indian, Polynesian in Jamaica) in our eyes we were all just Jamaican but respected our different cultural backgrounds

Opinion number two: it literally showed the coach giving the opinions on who should be the final member and you can see JY park being hesitant. Yet people want to be mad and ignore that because they want to feel victimized through others😂 I wasn’t big on the songs when I heard them in the show but they totally grew on me. Still I admit Jyp song choice for their idols are not the best. Like itzy for example (no hate) I like itzy as a group but I don’t like most of their songs and think they could be given much better songs. I feel sorry for Kg, she’s a hard worker and nothing about her is racist, people need to stop misusing that word- it’s totally disgusting.
