Opinion #1: nine circles levels are over hated. While yes, if a level is just generic nine circles that doesn’t do anything special, it shouldn’t really get rated, if a level has a really interesting and unique take on the nine circle style, and does it’s own thing, keeping the nine circles part of it as more of something to base itself off of, it can actually be a really good level. Opinion #2: xo by krmal is actually really good, and more levels like it should be rated. Most people, including me, think that gameplay is more important that decoration, and xo pays a lot of attention to its gameplay. I’ve had a lot of fun playing it, even though it’s way harder that anything I can realistically beat. It doesn’t even have bad decoration though. It’s simple and pretty unoptimized, but it has a certain charm to it. Also, because the deco is so simple, there is no lag, even on my shitty computer, and it’s a lot easier to tell what is happening, unlike some other extreme demons that are completely shrouded in darkness.

I find the asymmetrical dual comment interesting, I absolutely love asymmetrical duals and the process of learning them and have done since I started playing. I think it really depends on the reasons you find enjoyment in playing the game in general - for instance; I mainly play because I find it really satisfying to be able to beat difficult levels - so of course it makes sense I'd enjoy asymmetrical duals.

I think some stuff with the level could use some tweaking to make slightly better gameplay like the transitions and a bit of gravity but overall I don't think the level is messy or anything. I thought it was pretty fun to play.

(Platformer) Demons should be beatable by an average player without spending 5 hours straight on them. Platformers are the worst offenders, as even easy platformer demons are just as hard as medium normal demons to me.

I am the worst GD player in my friend group for platformer, and I can still beat most insane platformers. The leap in difficulty from insane to easy demon is ridiculous in both modes.

@IAmUnderscore it's not, it's a problem that there's such an extreme spike in difficulty. There's 0 easing from an insane to an easy drmon, and that's not a good thing. ALL good games gradually increase difficulty, and use difficulty spikes to actively discourage you from doing things you shouldn't, or going places early. Having such a huge spike from easy demon and insane means I'm discouraged from ever playing a demon level. The main levels don't have this problem, so it's really just a flaw with the rating system. Not having any values higher than 10 means that more difficult demons get mixed in with the easier ones.

I like Avernus partly because of the song, dark dragon fire is great, but its not that bad of a level for deco, its not really that ugly. I was kinda pissed that Zoink just fixed every spike originally, but its top 1 so what do you really expect levels to be like, and diamond and trick liked it enough.

Hot take: I dont like Centipede from a decoration stanpoint at the moment. It just looks like another generic glow nc level without much glow and interesting deco. I get it's a work in progress level, but it still hasnt changed much over the past few previews. I think it would look way better if it had some kind of forest/jungle theme to kinda fit the centipede theming that is not very present, but still there.

The Dash Spider is a GOOD introduction for 4 reasons 1. People say that the cube after the first swing is a better into, but thats the introduction to the rotate trigger. 2. People say that it's somthing that u dont see again in the level but the build up to the second drop uses the same triggers. 3. For the difficulty of the level it kind of fits, I mean remember Clutterfunk or Eletrodynamix? 4. Its kinds easy anyway lol

I think it's less that Electrodynamix is impassible, but moreso that it has really bad choke points. Everything from 0-32 and 37-70 is really easy; that's 2/3 of the entire level. The only parts i struggled at was 33-36, and the blind jump at 88. I will concede that 71-100 is difficult, but not 10 star.

I think swing gamemode could be a really versatile and fun gamemode. You can make UFO- like indicated gameplay and it works well but it also plays well with ship gameplay (although there should be more space compared to a ship section) without indicators. In other words it's the best of both worlds. I personally enjoy playing swing parts aswell

I completly disagree on slh and sw. I personally like sonic wave and even if its not outstanding in terms of deco,the song and the gp are very good. I did a run from the first wave to 100 and the only negative i could find while playing is the first ball wich is impossible On the other hand,i think slh is the worst top 1 weve ever had. The song is abysmal,the theaming sucks,its ugly asf and the fact that it "fits as a top 1" doesnt make it any better. It feels soo souless to me and doesnt have any emotion. Also i dont see the intensity. Ppl always say slh is intense but i just dont see it. Intensity has to be built overtime,with the song but slh is so short and the song is so bad that it doesnt have any kind of intensity to it

#Hottake: "Thinking Space" is a good idea for a level , but it was done really poorly . I think the concept is very interesting and creative , but the execution (especially balance) was done terribly wrong. I imagine it's possible to create a remake that improves this concept to make it enjoyable to play. Thinking Space had a lot of potential to be an interesting level, but it wasn't implemented well.

The bypass allowed you to EMULATE what the game would have felt like if you played the unmodded game on a real 360hz monitor. Regarding the new physics; using physics bypass is by definition cheating, however, I really do think the new physics are a significant downgrade. Despite being ""240"" it feels worse than 240 bypass before 2.2 I personally will be using phys bypass for pre 2.2 levels because enjoying the game is more important than what is technically cheating or not, that and I have no idea how to get into the 2.1 private server. Even if I did, it would be a massive hassle because uninstalling/reinstalling MH and geode just to switch between playing hard levels or 2.2 stuff Whether you agree or disagree with people using it is completely fine, but you really gotta just let people play the game how they want. Is it a skill issue? maybe, but by the same token dogging on people for wanting to play a better feeling game is certainly a mindset issue, we should be past this Basically everything else about 2.2 is fire tho
