Clark Gregg's deadpan delivery of "That depends, you ever want kids?" kills me ever time. 😆🤣😂

Hydra agents came to the village that Skye's mother was at as SHIELD agents, because they were still secretly in SHIELD still in the late 80's. And we dont know how, but a few SHIELD agents found out about it and wanted to protect the baby they found and seemed to be the target if the take over of the village, they obviously disagreed with what was being done. So they went against SHIELD and put Skye in the foster system and went rouge.

The detail I always loved in this episode is when Ward is dragging his brother around and he's pleading for his life, he says that he "let" Ward escape from SHIELD by only having a small detail on him. This just mirrors when Fitz first sees Ward in the basement and Ward saying he didn't outright kill him and Simmons but gave them a chance to escape. Manipulation runs deep with the Wards. I also love Fitz's comment about not getting it down to the 6 minutes Coulson gave him to install the equipment, and how that was with just his bad hand. Such a savage 😅.

In the first episode of the season, they mention how the base is an old S.S.R. base and they mentioned Peggy then, so it's not a coincidence that they happen to be at an old S.S.R. base. I think Coulson said that it was old enough that it more off the radar than the newer SHIELD bases so it was less known by the over all organization, but Fury knew about it and Phil does now 'cause of Fury's toolbox (if he didn't know before), but also Phil is a huge history buff, so I had to think that was a big plus for him to choose it...that and the fact that after SHIELD fell to HYDRA, their choices were limited. Old decommissioned, but still secure, places were the best choices for them to regroup. If you think about "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," there was another old decommissioned SSR base, but HYDRA had used it for Zola. Also, it's not like there was just that one folder left there at the base.😆 It was from the time of Peggy and The Red Skull and Whitehall, so there were probably lots of old files about that time, before SHIELD was officially formed.

Remember how this object -- diviner, Skye's dad calls it -- was the original 0-8-4, from which all other "objects of unknown origin" got the 0-8-4 moniker? And how Skye was, as a child (a toddler, or infant), referred to as an 0-8-4? So it's not that surprising, storywise, that Skye's 0-8-4-ness would be somehow connected with the diviner. Cool twist, for sure, but quite obviously planned, and from the very start of the series. The "blue angels" might be something like the blue Guest Host, whose body fluids cause people to start drawing lines like those on the diviner, and Skye, who has some sort of connection, was unaffected by it. Because she, being an 0-8-4, is what her dad calls "worthy", perhaps?

I know you’re already ahead in the series, but Ward actually isn’t hard to read in the end if you listen to his words to Cal closely. He mentions running into Coulson and he knows them “like family.” Indicating that he can bring Skye to meet Cal, her father! I’ll admit…I have no idea how Ward knew Cal was her father, but he was definitely speaking in cold. Also, there’s a name for what Ward did to his brother and parents…family annihilation. And of course I learned about that watching a lot of true crime. But fuuuuuck, it’s so disturbing he did that. Ward is a very convoluted character, but at the same time, that’s what makes him such a good villain!

you're the first person I've seen who caught on to the fact that both ward brothers are liars that change the stories

I noticed another lie as I was editing this. Graham was clearly meeting up with a mistress, but he told Ward he was meeting up with his wife. I didn't catch that the first time around because I was too engrossed in what was going on, but it was super obvious on the rewatch during the editing phase. Just more brilliant writing from the show. :)

@@BritanyBinges it only stays this way for the whole series! the way things from seasons 1 and 2 come back in seaons 4-7. you really have to watch the shows to keep things from blindsiding you. also they woman who plays daisy's mother and the guy who plays agent davis are married irl. also agent davis is also one of the writers of the show.

@@BritanyBingesHi Britany. First, great reactions. Second, even though you’re on S4E20, I want to be careful because I _detest_ spoilers. Agent Davis has appeared very briefly. Although he’s had lines, he’s been a minor character. Will leave it at that. The fact the two actors are married is interesting trivia, but that’s all. Doesn’t affect the show. Third, I did want to ask: in your first comment above you wrote that you noticed “Graham” was meeting a mistress, but told “Ward” he was meeting his wife. Did you mean “Christian” was meeting a mistress and told “Grant” the lie? Just confusing, especially since they are also both a “Ward.”

10:09 - *_Yes! Yes it is!... Visual storytelling is always the best storytelling!_* 13:38 - *_Still trying to figure out the Bat-sh*t crazy "Puzzle" that is Ward's mind... And failing, hey!_* 😜🤣👍 18:30 - *_I'm always amazed that the show got this scene (Amongst others) past the TV censors! It might be a bit dark as far as the lighting goes (Not to mention that it is very dark in terms of subject matter!) but we do clearly see some very graphic opening up of a live body and removal of organs! AoS wasn't a Netflix show, mind you: It was played on primetime TV in 2014ish! (As someone who grew up on graphic, B-Grade 80s horror movies, I am not shocked by it, mind you... But I am just still surprised that the pearl-clutchers that usually censors American TV shows didn't have a cow with that scene!)_* 22:24 - *_OH YES! Now THERE'S ANOTHER guy whose mind is hard to figure out! To quote Bruce Banner, talking about Loki: "That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him!" (I think that applies to Skye's dad just as well; if not more!)_* 😂👍👍

Dr. Johnson is an interesting character, very smart, but a bit traumatized by his experiences. He develops into a sympathetic character. The dissection of Skye's mother haunted me for a while when I first saw it. Whitehall... such a monster.

A little bit of a spoiler that you gave about Cal there. But I agree with you about Whitehall. Out of all of the villains on this show, Whitehall was one of the most disturbing ones to me, based on his ability to treat humans like objects, brainwashing them and carving them to his will to get to his main desires.
