"Does he have a Canon on his arm?" Yes, its why he was called the Whitestrake, also why its theorized that he's a time traveler. "I thought he was a bull man. Like a minotaur?" This is kind of a problem of this being during the Dawn era. While its more common for modern scholars to say Morihaus was a winged Minotaur, older texts just call him a winged bull. It kind of like how "Al-Esh" changed names to "Alesia." We don't exactly know what was myth or truth because the story is so dang old. "Who died?" Yeah, that's Huna. That's basically his lover, but they soft retconn'd the stance on that due to not wanting to make a hard stance on the player character's sexuality and you sort of become him (complicated) in Oblivion. "Was that like, a cat running away?" Yeah Khajiit can have cat forms, big cat forms, and almost human forms. It depends on the phases of the moons. Morihaus at the end got to have a conversation with his head. Chim = when you can basically ascend to godhood by knowing that you are part of a massive dream but maintaining your sense of self. It makes you basically a "lucid dreamer" in the dream and you can effect reality. I can't say if he attempted chim or not.

About his name whitestrake: I've only read the oblivion lore books considering Pelinal, but the books clearly state two things: -That Pelinal had white hair, even when he was a youth, and that this was the reason he was called whitestrake. -That his left hand was pure white light. At least in those lore books, it is never outright stated that he had a cannon on his right arm. Now, considering that scholars and contemporaries of pelinal wouldn't have known what a cannon is to begin with, it's possible they just interpreted what they saw in their own terms. But they would have most certainly noticed the giant metal casing around his right arm, which is never mentioned anywhere. His hand being made out of white light suggests that there was a constant white shimmer on his left arm, and that the light was visible at all times, perhaps even in the form of a hand. From this, it is a HUGE leap to state he in fact had a freaking cannon there. I know that ESO gives more explanation in regards to Pelinal, but I have never played that game. Does it state anywhere he actually had a sort of weapon attached to his arm? The only real references to the entire "cyborg from the future" theory are from the creator of tes, who mention that he's from the future, the fact that he shouts "reman", the fact that he knows and is familiar with the gods on a more intimate basis than most mortals, and the fact that it was "said" that his heart was a red diamond, and that his armor was unlike anything ever seen in those days.

Also, a lot of lorebooks say that Morihaus and Alessia gave birth to Belharza, the first minotaur. So there's that.

I believe Morihaus was just a Winged Bull. The first Minotaur's only were born as the children of him and Alesia. (half bull, half human) I guess the wings were lost in the process though.

Chim is the divine state of ascension in the Elder Scrolls. Most who attempt Chim fail. This is a reference to his divine being. He probably achieved a small state of Chim, allowing him to know Umaril the Unfeathered survived and the time travel to be in the future.
@Koyomix86
@Koyomix86 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think he achieved CHIM it’s possible but I don’t know how he would have done it I mean the tribunal achieved CHIM through the heart of Lorkhan and there are other methods but I don’t the Pelinal had the means to do it. I think that’s it’s more likely that he was either a divine being or the champion of some god, I’m pretty sure the Nords thought that he was the champion or incarnation of Lorkhan or he could be a time traveling cyborg warrior.
@unclefiend2138
@unclefiend2138 2 жыл бұрын
No? CHIM is unrelated to divinity. The only characters we know of that have achieved CHIM are Talos and Vivec, and while they are both Gods, they became so for different reasons than CHIM. CHIM is closer to simply understanding the nature of the Aurbis and maybe gives you the ability to warp reality.

11:01 CHIM (pronounced kɪm or tʃɪm,) in Daedric script spelled as (), called the Secret Syllable of Royalty, is a state in which one can break free of all known laws and corruptions of Oblivion. It allows for the user to return to a state before the mingling of Anu and Padomay and manipulate the Aurbis how they please. CHIM is often associated with Love, which seemingly connects it to the concept of God actually being "Love."

So... the guy that died was Pelinal's significant other, Huna. Pelinal finally snapped afterwards - the number at the top right represents the kill count he had. In other words, Pelinal killed around 1,000 Khajiit and over 8 million Ayleid elves, apparently. The whole sci-fi cannon and jetpack is just flavoring for his spells, I think ('cause indeed, Pelinal could cast magic). I interpreted it as a joking reference that he's basically a Terminator sent to eradicate the Ayleid elves. It could be some sort of reference to the theory that Pelinal's some sort of time traveler due to battlecrying "REMAN!" and being present at Alessia's death-bed/funeral, but I am wholly unfamiliar with that theory. Either way, the referencing joke is further built upon by Pelinal's elf-scanning visor, his robotically updated kill-count, and the 'glitching' screen in his death. The white flash before the White-Gold Tower... I'm genuinely unsure. I thought it was referring to how Alessia prayed to the Eight Divines to make Pelinal sane again, but I'm just not sure. The flying armored elf that Pelinel fights with the jetpack levitation spell was Umaril the Unfeathered, I believe. Pelinal manages to 'kill' him before being meatgrinded by the remaining Ayleid Kings. Mordhaus is indeed a minotaur - he's just cartoonistically represented as a winged bull. Now that I think about that... 'Red Bull gives you wings?' Hmm. Anyhow, I had long thought that Mordhaus (or some other minotaur) was the first emperor, not Reman... but my knowledge of Elder Scrolls lore is a decent bit lacking, so I cannot quite say.

Ah, modernity. We are those with the special blend of ignorance and hubris who seem unable to interpret words like 'confidant' and 'companion' without assuming homosexuality. Huna (a nod to Huma from Dragonlance?) was his companion through life and battle. This doesn't mean they were lovers. See Achilles & Patroclus, another pair for whom moderns project buggery when none was implied. As most people have not lived through combat, they do not understand the blood bond of brotherhood one finds in danger and battle. It is sad for them, as sexual interest seems to be the only bond they see wherever they look.
