This has a tribal feel to it in the beginning. The chanting was cool, and the vocals were amazing. I loved the mix of the techno like beats and an opera singer, basically. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to blend those two so seamlessly but they did it.

Yup, this is the one! It’s my favorite of theirs. I actually requested this song months ago, but shortly after that I changed my mind and decided to commit to an album-by-album journey instead. The journey to get to their modern sound is fascinating to experience. But this whole time I’ve KNOWN that you would love this song in particular. It’s the song that converted me from a casual and occasional listener to a megafan. The stylistic change is wild! And their sound is going to continue to develop as we go on. So excited to experience this with you, buddy.

Never in my life have I thought I'd see Qntal reactions. So thanks for requesting this! It's great to see another fan in the wild.

This is the song that turned me onto this band many, MANY years ago and has made me get every single one of their albums. I'm in the middle of a migraine, but just had to watch you react to this one! Worth it. ♥

@@vampiricunicorn791 Requester here. I agree! Glad we had the same experience. Unfortunately not the best song for a migraine. I’ll be requesting more Qntal going forward.

This was wild indeed, groovy and otherwordly at the same time. Was thinking the whole time this must be a hell of a thing to experience live.

This was beautiful and gave me goosebumps! The vocals, especially the throat-singing, were awesome. I just wish I could learn what instruments they were using here. I thought that I heard something like a shawm, and also a hurdy-gurdy, but given the huge line-up of instruments that they play they could be anything.

Wasn't this wild! Such a sonic performance of melody!

QNTAL! One of the bands in my playlist that no one heard about. Just stumbled on your channel from some random reaction, got intrigued by discussion of depression and vulnerabilities (more people should talk about that for sure), decided to check your channel, and QNTAL right on que! I also surprised by lack of Nine Inch Nails in your catalogue. Like whole Downwards Spiral album is absolutely down your lane. On the second though, it might be so much down your lane that you probably all too familiar with it. Nonetheless it would be interesting to have your take on Closer. It is rather popular reaction song, but mostly for "cultural shock reaction" by overly pious people and "shy modest girls", so they usually miss what's really going on there. Keep up the good work. So glad the Algorithm got me to your channel.

I've really enjoyed QNTAL! I appreciate you being here.

I fully second your recommendations of "Selig" and "Omnis mundi creatura" by Helium Vola, my two favourite songs on their debut album! By the way, Helium Vola are not exactly a project by Qntal, but a different band founded by Ernst Horn after he had left Qntal after their second album "II", which might explain why the style of music is similar to what Qntal sounded like, especially on their first two albums. It's also quite obvious that Ernst Horn was responsible for the harsh/aggressive and sometimes nearly industrial-like parts in some of the old Qntal-songs, because you hear similar parts also in some Helium Vola-songs, but not anymore in the songs by Qntal from their third album onwards. Other favourite songs by Helium Vola I would add to those two you mentioned are "Veni Veni" and "In lichter Farbe steht der Wald" from their second album "Liod", "Dies Ire" from their "In lichter Farbe steht der Wald"-EP and "Saber d'amor" from their third album "Für Euch, die Ihr liebt".

The title of this album has me searching for the Shelley poem. Interesting choice for an album title. That said, I enjoyed this. The singer's voice was beautiful and the music compelling.
