Thank you for your reaction to Angelina first hit. She was 9 years old then. After, at 12, it was her second hit: This is a man s world! Both songs put her name on the map of s top musical singners. What an accomplishment! Today, in January 2020, she is recognized as the best jazz singer in the world! The sky is the limit, Angelina! We love you and we will continue to support you.

You dont have to worry about her voice its well within her limits, she did in a dawdle. at 8 years here she was alraedy a veteran, writing arrangements, instructing her band on tempo and key changes. She started vsinging at 18 months, recording at 6 and winning talent shows at 7. Plays 3 instruments, has written 2 books, speaks 3 languages by age 6, she stays back after school occasionally at the oslo performing arts centre, and sings for no other reason than she loves it and wants to make listeners happy. Otherwise she is a completely normal young girl

Goldfinger is one of her two favorite Bond songs. The other is Diamonds are Forever. Her song Shield has a Bond sound to it. She wrote the lyrics. You can find all her Norway's Got Talent songs. She has been singing covers, jazz, 60s. This is the only one that seems hard on the vocals. I felt this was a little scary except for the woos at the end which were enchanting. Remarkable singer.

I've watched a number of Angelina's videos. This one is my favorite, partly because of the growls. I trust that those who are managing her career won't allow her to over do it. She has an incredible voice. It would be criminal to damage it in some way.

I have been a fan of hers for over two years, and I love to see reactions from people who have not heard about her (although I don't see why) when she sings this song...It still brings goosebumps to my old body, when I hear her sing this song...so perfect!

Shes always had that growl when its needed. Shes a jazz singers and the great jazz singers are her inspiration. She was 8 singing this.

Surprised you started with this one, gem that it is. Her performances age 6 and 7 is where to begin. More recently her three originals are superb. However everything Angela sings belongs to her. The "damage the vocal chords" myth is just that, a myth.

I hear many comparing Angelina Jordan way of singing to Christina Aguilera, but I can't see it. And specially in this song Angelina is singing in a much older style. I would rather compare this song to the way Screamin' Jay Hawkins performed it. More wild.

1. An important thing to remember about AJ is that she owns the rights to everything she sings and with aquired permissions for covers of other singers. 2. She refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway. 3. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music. 4. She has been arranging most, if not all of her music performances since she was 8 years old. 5. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot, sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old! 6. We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come. 7. BTW I'm 80 and have been involved privately in music since age 7.

Understanding how to play with word structure and timing, for effect & drama, as well as depth in her voice, and the ability to control it, while changing song arrangement is incredible for an adult that seasoned & let's not forget It's JAZZ! Really! This was all deliberate, by an 8 year old girl who speaks Norwegian....For years now, I would show people I know and most would cry watching her performances. Cry! Watch her rendition of Bohemian rhapsody. Tell me what it does to you. Her new song she wrote Shield (Top 10) easily.

Hi, You had some good point outs. She just turned 9 here & the growl she did as a tribute to SJH the writer of the song. This song she was having fun with, also she did the arrangement of it. You can she her give the conductor the notes she was writing down for him to apply the changes she wanted. (conductor say's she called them her wishes) Please react to more AJ.

She won Norway's Got Talent in 2014 at 8 years of age.... She turned just 12 on January 10 of this year, 2018..... I'm glad you reacted to her, and hopefully you will react to more, including the NGT 2014 of her songs, and her most popular, in my opinion, "Fly Me To The Moon".... She is predominately to exclusively a jazz singer, a jazz prodigy in fact.....

Thanks for your good reaction of Angelina. She is known for "a thousand vocal voices". She adjusts her voice to what genre she sings. She tries back and forth between genres. Remember she is 14 years old, so this is not a song for old people :-) But it does illustrate the range of her vocals.

Angelina is mad on jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday etc. SO rare in one so young. Thats interesting you mentioned James Bond she has a video of her singing Diamonds Are Forever. This was a rare Winehouse type song for her. Watch her sing Every Time We Say Goodbye (Ella Fitzgerald song) and Gershwins Summertime. Sheer magic.

She was 9 and her singing is carefully monitored limited and controlled. The gravelly quality is natural. They also limit her vocal range. She attends classes at a college for the arts with focus on voice. She plus 3 instruments has written a book and does fine art also

WARNING TO ALL YOUNG SINGERS: Don’t try to sing like Angelina until you know how to do it. Take voice lessons and learn everything you can about vocal technique and artistic styling. If you try to do what she does before you know what you are doing, you could severely damage your voice and may never be able to sing again. Angelina has a gift that very, very few people in history have ever had. All of her physical vocal abilities and sense of musical style came to her at birth and because her family played music all the time as she was growing up. She is a force of nature. You can aspire to sing like her, but don’t push it. We would like to see and hear you on KZbin someday!

I saw a video quite a while ago of Christina Aguilera when she was about 7or8 on a local TV stn where she lived, she was doing a Jazz cover just like what Jordan is do right now. I Put a Spell On You was a song from 1956 and has been covered by all the greats. Angelina has the ability to mimic the great Jazz singers of the 40s and 50s and now it's a wait and see if we have another Amy Winehouse, not necessarily another Christina

[Cal 99ers] Mimic, mimic you say??? Angelina Jordan is an interpretive genius in the same class as Ella, Sarah, Nancy and a few more. Way beyond the names you threw out there. As for Amy Winehouse, on the night she attended the Grammy's (as I recall she was receiving one of those) she was overheard saying how bored she was and how she really wanted to leave so she could get high. That was HER LEGACY, a means just to get high which she did often, so high she managed to reach the grave yard!!!

Cal, never again say that Angelina is a mimicker or an imitator. Even though you have the right to express your opinion, you most know that it is insulting and untrue. She has the ability to pay tribute to great jazz singers, yes, not to mimick them.
