I’ve loved Always since 1987, but I was 11, growing up in SW Kansas. To this day it brings the chills to me every time I hear it. Definitely one of the most beautiful songs to have been recorded.

I couldn’t disagree more. Even the stuff that sounded (or was intentionally meant to sound) “robotic” in the 80’s, sounds less robotic than most of what I hear today. With all the auto tune and sterile drum sounds. No comparison. I think in 100 years, people are going to look back at the 80’s and say “Wow! This is good!” And they’re going to look at stuff that’s current to tidy and say “This sounds fake and robotic.”
