3 months for me. I've branched out, but I keep coming back to Band-Maid. You should check out Asterism. The bands in Japan are killing it and women dominate these bands.

I didn't think you could still find this video. It's a definite show of not only their skill but how much they appear to enjoy being on stage together. And he may have a point with the sexuality aspect, they had Don't Let Me Down written for them early on, but they've since shied away from that stuff for the most part. Preferring to prove themselves by skill and personality. If I understood interviews correctly.

@VMA Record Sorry to disappoint you but I happen to like 3 piece bands. All of my life I liked 3 piece from Jimi Hendrix to Cream and today in the U.S. I like KXM. If a 3 piece band can pull off a gig, they are good to me, sorry.

JIMMY PAGE OF ( LED ZEPPELIN ) loves this band. He met the group back stage and asked if he could have his picture taken with the drummer( AKANE ) she thought it was a dream ( it was not ) a rock legend like that giving props to the girls, how awesome is that.Jimmy Page( LED ZEPPELIN) just after seeing the band play in Tokyo in 2016. He complimented Akane. Akane was star struck. She later said Mr Jimmy Page-san offered her much encouragement and she promised to do her best.

One really cool thing about Band Maid is that all of it contrast. The music is both beautiful and very aggressive. It has the strong melodies that we hear in pop and other forms of music...with the energy of metal. The women are all beautiful...and provide a fascinating visual contrast. Saiki and Misa look like Ninja maids that would kick your ass, while Miku, Kanami and Akane look like sweet maids that would bandage you back up after Saiki and Misa finished thrashing you. Musically, they are SCARY great. All the way through. I'd say that Akane is easily one of the top 5 drummers in the world. Misa is the best bassist I've heard in a very, very long time. Kanami is one of the most creative players out there. Saiki...has this magnificent way of singing...that really ties the melody in with the groove. She does it so well that the music is COMPELLING. And Miku. People think that she is overshadowed by the musical genius of the others, but they don't realize that she may be the best total musician of the bunch. Not only is she the founder and leader, she sings wonderfully, writes beautifully and plays badass rhythm guitar. If you really listen to what she's playing, she tears it up.

@VMA Record Really? I read before that Miku was the leader. After reading your comment, I did a search again...and mutliple sites show Miku as the leader. Then again, with the internet, you can never be too sure what's what.

@cmonsterz Miku founded the group and is their lyricist. Kanami writes the music. Akane is the "band leader" in charge of rehearsing and related duties.

In music way, Akane is leader, but in all the other like interviews, promotion, band work system, contract, is lead by Miku.

@Tonia Han That's one of the great things about this band. There's no one single (often very egotistical) star who is in charge of everything, the duties are divided up.

For me....point #1, their sound is soooo clear. Not a muddled "wall of sound". #2, love the back and forth between the guitar and the bass, awesome.

I just heard they performed both 'Screaming' and 'Secret Maiko Lips' last night (12-8) in Kyoto. Once you react to 'Secret Maiko Lips' we can explain why performing it in Kyoto is such a big deal. : )

Dice is a great track as well. Really there's not anything I dislike about band-maid. You know who would have thought Japan would have so many great female bands. You add Aldious, Existtrance, Bridear. Along with a 14 year old prodigy like Li-Sa-X into the mix. You begin to see BabyMetal was just preparing us for what was to come. 🤯🔥🎸🔥🤘

Little Minx is a fun guest! Also, I have to thank you guys for literally, personally getting me back into Band Maid! I always loved them, but you know how life goes, and I somehow forgot about them for some bizarre reason until I discovered your channel and thus,so many of their songs I had never heard! If you want to try another band from Japan that will totaly conquer you, just try: LOVEBITES and begin with the track SHADOWMAKER. It's just incredible.
