From Japan I feel BAND-MAID's new side of classical hard rock. They seem to have mastered classical and dramatic songwriting with the theme of SENCE and Down Winery. With a short setlist for the festival, they had the perfect opening song to wow the audience.

They are really hitting their stride with UNLEASH and all the great tracks on it. There is never any throw away songs on any of their albums. They continually surprise and amaze, truly a treasure as you said. Pretty much the only music I listen to.

People who write them off because of the outfits are morons. Like there’s some “magic” about just coming out in regular clothes? Jeans and a t-shirt means you’re legit? If that was true Band Maid wouldn’t be able to musically kick the asses of those groups--yet they do!

Legit one of my favorite songs...by any band...EVER. The only reason it's not my favorite Band-Maid track ("Blooming") is because Saiki's not singing. The number of MASTERPIECES this band has is freakin' mind-blowing. Happy Holidays, SBR! 🕊

It's one of my favorite songs too! Everyone also seems to have a favorite part to this one. Mine is 5:59 to 6:13 on this video. Followed closely by around 2:49 on this video (that little crunch Kanami does right after the drum fill). The crazy thing is that From Now On, Without Holding Back, Onset, and Sayonakidori are my favorite Band-Maid songs -- and Saiki is ALSO my favorite singer!😀

Had to read up on the Eventide Harmonizer after listening to your video. lol, Oh my, what a pedal! I wonder if Kanami-san got the Preview version of the new model or she's been using the old model. I think the first time I heard this "synth" type of sounds from the band is on Screaming. I could be wrong though.

Sadly, a lot of people in Japan don't give them a chance and consider them an idol band of "old maids" since all of them (except Saiki) are in there thirties now. Crazy, right?

I have never found any articles that they are an idol band. They are mostly regarded as good. If they were not so popular as you expected, it is just because their music is not preferred.

This song just flat out kicks your ass, and should be their opener 'from now on.' 😁 My completely unfounded (and probably wrong) theory is that this guitar tone is something Mincho came up with because you can hear the other band-members more easily. It has a lot of overtones but it takes out the lower and mid range sounds of the PRS. That said, it's not quite as pronounced in their live shows - which I liked better because I'm not a huge fan of this new tone on every song. I mean I like it but I prefer the big fat tones we used to get on World Domination, etc. Like you though, I love that they're not afraid to experiment like crazy, and even more risky, to write compositions that push their abilities to the very limit. Mostly, I want them to keep having fun and keep doing what they want to do - because I want them to still be around for a long, long time!
