They usually get asked to do the theme songs in advanced so Miku can do the lyrics(she usually reads the novels/manga/etc to make the lyrics make sense to the anime fans as well) Besides the best vol 1&2, they released at the okyujis memorable, shambles, magie, go easy, brightest star, and protect you(none are on cd yet)

The fabled return of Skippy is here. In the making of vid of "Shambles" the crew flooded the floor. Kanami accused Miku of flooding it by punching a pipe with her strong muscles. She then dropped her pick in a big puddle, Saiki laughed & told her she couldn't use the pick now cos it would damage the strings & Kanami blamed Miku for that as well. MINCHOMANIA Rocks :)

Akane's performance in this song is absolutely off the chart !!!!! The double kick work is really next level and her playing has so much finesse.....listen how she backs off in the start of the second verse to let Misa's bass to have room to breathe. The stamina it takes to play this is inhuman !!!!!! Could only be done by a really talented GORILLA !!!!!!!!

Welcome back, Skip! Since the Yokohama concert (which was friggen MAGICAL!), it's been fairly quiet in the land of The Maids, which means, of course, they're up to something. I wouldn't be surprised to see something drop on or around Xmas, because the Maids spoil us rotten. Anywho, a couple of pretty safe bets for branching out (many fans of Band-Maid are fans of these bands) would be: Glim Spanky, Asterism, Trident, The Warning, Sokinanaru, etc.) Hope all is well and Happy Holidays! 🕊

Welcome back man! so the first thing that comes to mind that you have not seen is the Dice / Hate? live at Lollapalooza video. Those two songs at that show might be one of their biggest moments in 2023.

If your quick you can buy a online ticket to see the Nov 26th Yokohama Arena concert....Well worth it!....Totally magical show....I was there!...The last show of their 10th Anni Tour.....I was also at the first show at Tokyo Garden Theater in Jan.

Hey SBR! It's great to see you on here again. You were right about this song; it was written for an anime. You might be interested in their performance of "Dice" and "Hate?" at Lollapalooza this year, if you haven't seen it already. Akane does a killer solo/intro between the two songs, and "Hate?" has an extended solo section. You might also be interested in the Yokohama concert, they livestreamed it and they will be putting out a DVD/Blu-ray of that concert, it was over 3-1/2 hours long, and there were a lot of surprises. They have written some new songs, but they don't have any videos yet. I suspect they will probably start shooting videos soon after this last concert in Hong Kong. On another note, Trident has released a new EP and have been busy posting new videos lately. Please take care and have a great night!

Just after the Yokohama show....Akane released her signature drumsticks!...Wincent W-5B....Though I believe she used to use 5A's. She made a personal appearence at a music shop to promote her new signature sticks...Just 80 meters from the hotel I was staying at in Akiharbara..same street...But a week after I had to check out!...WHAAAA! 😭

Something similar happened to me. The band tweeted they had a day off in Otaru the day before the serving there. They tweeted they were playing on these trolleys in a disused railway that had been turned into a park. That park was literally outside my hotel and I had walked through it four times that day! I must of just missed them lol!

Welcome back. Band-Maid also released the song "Memorable" earlier this year, as well as a live version of "Sense" and another live version of "No God", both from the Tokyo Garden Theater show. I think you've already covered everything else they have officially released on their channel, although there are some unofficial live versions of other songs out there. I won't recommend anything unofficial out of respect for the band. If you haven't watched their 10th anniversary tour finale show at the Yokohama Arena, it's still available on their usual streaming platform (zaiko) for another week or so, but they haven't released anything from it on their KZbin channel yet. It's 3.5 hours long, 33 songs in one epic performance. It includes two unreleased songs that were debuted during the last leg of the tour, as well as some special versions of some of their other songs. Their next new album will be released next summer. If you want to check out something different but still awesome from a different band, I suggest the new Japanese band East of Eden. They have two official mvs out so far and are gaining quite a bit of traction. The songs are " Evolve" and "This Moment." Their debut EP drops this week.

Welcome back. Hope things have settled down and you're happy to get back into the swing of things! Though I am sad to see your shoulder still hurts. Akane is insane in this and Saiki continues to impress more and more as time goes by. 100% with you on the chorus. It's one of the catchiest things they've done, but IMO it's a pretty standard anime chorus, and "standard" is not something one can usually say about anything Band-Maid does. It's quite a change even from their other anime songs. It's weird to say that about a song with as heavy a riff as this one and as crazy instrumentation, but I think one would be hard-pressed to argue differently. So why is this the case? I thought maybe it was because of feedback from the anime producers, who can be very hands off or request a lot of changes. But even if it's the case of producers wanting this song a certain way -- like with Miku/cluppo's "With You" -- the two songs they "debuted" at the Yokohama concert ("Brightest Star" and "Magie") had extremely poppy choruses too. Not, "poppy for Band-Maid", whose choruses are already catchier than any other hard rock band I know, but objectively poppy. I wonder if that's the direction they're going. The fan reaction to that would be interesting. 🤣 But I think it's just a coincidence. Each song I mentioned has a good reason to be more in the catchy style than we're used to from Band-Maid. Like you said, this song could be that way because it's for an anime. And of the other two songs I mentioned, one is a Miku song (which tends to be more in that direction anyway) and the other seems like a purpose-built "celebrate with the crowd" song. So perhaps not indicitave of a direction, but simply that each song needed to be that way just because, well, that's what it's for. And let's not forget that speculation about them "going poppy" has happened before and those people had a lot of crow to eat when Band-Maid came back with some of their hardest hitting stuff, then continued to get heavier and more progressive. But in that case it was one song and this time it's the last three songs they've chosen to show us. (For the record, I'm not worried either way because while I love the direction Band-Maid has gone, but I also like good pop music.) Looking forward to seeing more from you! Have a great day.

Definitely do the documentary stuff, though you probably know a decent chunk of it by now. As far as other suggestions, the maids are fans of a band from Mexico called The Warning (and vice versa). I’d recommend checking out their stuff, I really enjoy Choke, but they also don’t make bad music. In the Japanese music world, a group called Hanabie (Ha-nah-bee-eh) is rocketing to stardom. They’re uhh… more intense? They’re very different but I can’t stop listening to them either. Easily my second favorite band out of Japan, after the Maids of course. “We love Sweets” is the go to recommendation, though I think “Tousou” is my favorite? I don’t know, they’re wild.
