Just an incredible performance of a great song! Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor rock.

Lost Together is usually the last song of the night. They bring up all the singers from the bands on the bill. They're really great guys.

Really, really nice. Forgot about Blue Rodeo. Really like this. Sarah Mac's voice always welcome. There's subtle power to it.

What is Canadian? A band that we all know you will probably like would be The Tragically Hip, a band that had a wide appeal in our Country and did not have to leave as so many did in order to make a name for themselves. Gordon Lightfoot is one the greatest Canadian songwriters, Bob Dylan says of him, “The only bad thing about a Gordon Lightfoot song is that it ends” (they were great friends). Dylan spent a lot of time in Toronto, you might be interested to know his back up band “The Band” was formed from a band called the Hawks (backing Ronnie Hawkins, RIP) in Toronto. PS, this is just a small example, I’m sure others will have more to add.

Blue Rodeo, great band listen to them a lot, love their sound, great songwriting. Really like Sarah McLachlan as well, she has some very powerful songs. I watch your channel because I appreciate your honesty, you can’t possibly like everything. Lost together is a solid song, is it my favourite? No, but I don’t mind listening to it when it comes up. Good honest review Justin.

They should have had Sarah sing " Dark Angel" which they sang together on 5 days in July. Its lesser known though.

Yeah, this song doesn't really work with her, at least not for me.

More Canada, Tragically Hip. New Orleans is Sinking, Ahead by a Century. Most Canadian might be Bob & Doug MacKenzie doing the comedy 'hit single', "Take Off", with Geddy Lee.

It is said that if you play this song anywhere in the English speaking world outside of Canada, the Canadians in the crowd will identify themselves by singing the chorus

You like interviews so I will suggest Neil Peart and Rick Mercer. It’s really funny, and I think you would enjoy.

The Band were very happy with Canada and some success in Northern States , The lead Singer Jim Cuddy has a net worth of 5 million , There preference was to play in more confined spaces rather then big hockey type arenas

The harmonies did not work at all, which is not what I would have expected adding Sarah into the mix. Though I'd rarely ever suggest a live recording from late in a band's career even if it is award show recording quality (Radiohead is one of a few exceptions). Blue Rodeo's Trust Yourself live on Letterman will blow you away, followed up by The Tragically Hip's Blow at High Dough (official video - it won't get blocked), and Neil Young (Out on the weekend, live at BBC 1971)

Hey, if the song didn't excite you then that's OK. I personally like Blue Rodeo but I am more into Rush, The Tragically Hip and the Tea Party along with the Guess Who and BTO. Truly Canadian of course Rush but they are popular world wide. I would say the Tragically Hip or as we say in Canada The Hip. They never really broke into the American market all that much but they are beloved in Canada.
@MarieAnne. Жыл бұрын
Could be the reason it didn't excite him is Sarah Maclaughlan. She's a great singer, but this song just doesn't have the same feel with her. Better to go with the studio version.

I am Canadian & I LOVE this song - BUT - I HATE this VERSION of it! This was a TERRIBLE introduction to this song! NOW - to give them justice - listen to an audio version of JUST Blue Rodeo performing it - or an OFFICIAL music video version - to see how it is SUPPOSED to sound! Blue Rodeo was also younger when they recorded it so their voices were better then too - back at the cusp of the 90s. NOW, once you have heard the Official Music Video - to PLEASE give the song justice - listen to the cover version - PERFORMED BY REGULAR CANADIANS - FROM COAST TO COAST TO COAST (with Blue Rodeo joining in) in cuts spliced together by our national broadcaster. This was done in the 1st few months of COVID when we were all isolating, people were dying in huge numbers around the world & there were still very few answers. Our national broadcaster (the CBC) came up with the idea of splicing together a cover of some Canadian song in this way - & the CANADIAN PEOPLE CHOSE "Lost Together" as the song. IT IS MOVING AS ANYTHING!! 7yuu76

On a side note As good as Sarah Maclaughlan her voice doesnt suit this song.The studio version is much better.

Sarah McLachlan is a very talented vocalist...but she brings nothing to this song. She is not singing the emotion of the tune itself, just doing the thing she always does. This is not my fave song by a long shot...but it is a pleasant, heart felt, sing it around the camp fire type tune...and she just doesn't connect with that vibe of it at all.
