You can't lose your best run defender by a mile and still expect to keep playing at a high level as a defense. The defense was great when they had all their starters. You start losing starters and you're just not going to be as good. I knew this would happen when they lost Billings.

Ok, I'll offer the most unpopular take. This is *in part* (but a big part) a product of the Bears tanking for several years. They don't know how to win in the modern NFL. You might argue that the Bears tanking games late in, for example, the 2022 season has nothing to do with them being unable to win these last five games. Fine. I think it all is a part of being a losing organization. They don't know how to win from the top of the org, to the bottom. They don't know how to develop and work with the talent they have in the building. They don't know how to assemble a winning team. They don't know how to make that final push in the playcalling and the effort on the field when the game is on the line. They rely on analytics in order to defy common sense and to the detriment of the humans on the field. This is what you get when you have a tanking team with a few more talented weapons. They just have a bigger gun and stronger bullets but still don't know how to shoot. Oh, but if they didn't tank, they would not have eventually landed Caleb! Screw it. If they don't know how to win and how to develop him, the team is still going to lose and he won't reach his full potential anyway. This is a losing organization through and through.

Cover 2 is a simple defense that anyone should be able to run. All you need is a probowl explosive 3 t surrounded by guys that can win and rush the passer with 4. 2 a generational hall of fame fast tall mlb with a lerreniak probowl wlb side kick . 3 a ball hawking fs 4 2 corners one of which must be pro bowl if not both . These can literally be found ANYWHERE. Why can’t they run this defense correctly ?!!

Im happy, thinking we would make playoffs or compete for the chip was a reach. We got what we needed, a franchise QB, star skill group on offense and FINALLY good play calling on offense. There's so many upset fans, I get it I am too. But we still have a rookie QB and im glad he's gotten to experience so much so early including OT performance. Im genuinley excited for the future of this team, quick gratification would have felt great, but I'd rather long term success than a playoff run in Caleb's first year followed down years like the Bengals position.

We upgraded the QB position with a stud, got a WR in the top 10, acquired Keenan Allen, a future Hall of Famer, made key additions on defense, brought in a new OC who was supposedly soooooo good, and we're gonna finish worse than last year. Pathetic. Just a garbage organization

I think Matt should’ve let Caleb try to convert on 4th down in OT. I know it was his sack and a delay of game that pushed them back, but he seems like the kind of player who wants an opportunity to redeem himself after a mistake, and the Bears defense wasn’t playing great at that point. Sorta felt the game was over as soon as they punted.

Not a total excuse, but I believe he's playing injured. The bigger issue is that -- again -- they've built a team that requires everything to go perfect to operate sufficiently. The Lions lost their stud for the ENTIRE YEAR and haven't fallen apart. The Bears would be giving up 35+ per game without Montez.

Eberflunk has DBs 15 yards off on 3rd & 8+ countless times, why is Byard 1 on 1 against Addison on 3rd & 10 & 7 yards behind the line to gain? Edmunds is the SOFTEST MLB I've seen in decades, Allen had a good game but is clearly hinderd, time for Rome to be the X receiver. Somebody needs to talk to DJ, if it's a run play or the ball isn't going to him his half ass effort blocking & scramble drill has become routine.
