I think this is the best reaction I have watched so far. I agree with everything you said. He needs to change that staging and he sounded more good when he sang at the end. I don't know why so many romanian people are so harsh with him, we should support him and our country. Thanks for voting for Romania and I hope he will qualify.

What you said about the performance having musical theatre/cabaret vibes - I guess that's one of the reasons I'm drawn to it, I'm a huge musical theatre fan so I welcome any elements of it in Eurovision 😅 Fingers crossed he'll do well in May 🤞

Great reaction! Very thorough and well documented. You don't see that many Eurovision reactors out there investing time to know more about the story behind the song or the artist which I think is a must with this kind of entry as it's not your generic Eurovision pop dance song ready to burst in the clubs this summer. You have my like and subscription with all the bells and whistles 😄 Keep it up! Regarding my opinion on the song, even though I am Romanian and might be prone to bias, I can truly see this qualifying at least in the final if they sort the hectic and messy choreography and staging, which 90% of all youtube reactors I watched found cheesy, oversexualized and all over the place (fair points, not going to deny 😳). Of course it depends on what the other countries are bringing to the table. For example, Ester Peony didn't qualify, in 2018 I think, even though she had a similar vibe to her song but she also didn't come close to Theodore's vocal range and charisma on stage. If this gets in the finals I think it can place in top 15, as it's the type of song that will grow on people as they listen to it more than once (with a more classy stage production I hope 😛)

Great vibe, fantastic voice and the message is clear enough from the English part too. The costumes are related to the message of the song but I agree the girls should be more dressed. The lack of clothes for him and other boys is actually representing the story of this girl that plays him on her fingers (DGT = degete = fingers) because in Romanian there is actually a saying that states "iei camaşa de pe mine" (take my shirt off) when you play bad and hard someone. This song screams interesting and sassy and he is very charismatic! This is a 12 points song and performance!

D. G. T. Is pronounced like De Ge Te and Degete is the Romanian word for fingers so the message is that he is played by a girl "on her fingers", like "very easy". So all things took together try to show that is better to love someone sincerely, without making a war in their heart or hurting them .

What do the “D. G. T. (Off and On)” lyrics mean? “D. G. T. (Off and on)” contains lyrics both in English and Romanian. The title “D. G. T.” doesn’t actually stand for anything - it’s a play on words. In Romanian, these three letters are pronouns as “de-ge-te”. This sounds like the Romanian word “degete”, which means “fingers”. The song lyrics are derived from the Romanian expression “a juca pe cineva pe degete”, or “to play somebody on your fingers” - meaning to fool somebody. Theodor’s lyrics speak about a woman who “plays him on her fingers”, meaning that she’s messing him around. He is addicted to this losing game and he would still “choose her from a thousand women”. Theodor explains that the song presents a battle between ration and instinct, a duel between passion and emotional security, a love war. “D. G. T. (Off and On)” speaks about a love to which you constantly return even if you know that you will get hurt.
