@@TWReactz oh that's interesting. In french, "mongol" come from "mongolien" which used to be the common term to call people who suffer from Down syndrome. They were thinking at the time, that they were looking like mongolians people, because of the eyes and other stuff. Nowadays "mongolien" doesn't exist anymore for people with Down syndrome but "mongol" is still frequently use to say dumb / idiot.

Orelsan even had some problems about these lyrics because of that and the fact that some people with Monoglian roots/nationality were shocked by the use of this word in the song... Which are kind of a proof of his other lyrics about people being overly sensitive nowadays and wanting the censure artists when they're not politicaly correct.

L’autre chanson de Orelsan qui est magnifique c’est manifeste !! Mais le sens et la traduction risquent d’être compliqué… il y a aussi : suicide social, Tu vas aimer ;) le terme mongol était précisément utilisé il y a longtemps pour désigner les personnes trisomiques, c’était un terme plutôt vulgaire, en référence au fait que ces personnes ont souvent les yeux un peu bridés… c’est un terme insultant, et avec le temps c’est devenu une expression insultante pour désigner une personne stupide , dénuée de sens , limitée… ici il l’utilise comme un clin d’œil qui ferait un parallèle entre les mongols ( idiots) qui finiront disparus comme certains empires , nous , français, , aimons jouer avec le sens des mots , et ça rend très compliqué, même avec certains francophones qui n’ont pas l’habitude… ici , cette chanson est une bombe , pleine de sens et de jeux sur les clichés et les codes …

Man, it's really nice to see a young man with such a critical eye and knowledge of the politics of a neighboring country. Mongol is a french word for stupid/dumb. He makes a parallel between the stupid people who vote, lead us, to whom we give weapons (the cops), and the fall of an empire like the Mongols and others like the Mayans and the Greeks. Check "notes pour trop tard" in another style. In this song he talks to a version of himself when he was young and it's beautiful!

Comme chansons d'Orelsan il y a "Suicide Social" (c'est un peu comme une référence des sons d'Orelsan), dans laquelle il reprend tous les codes de la société pour les remettre en question (certains l'ont accusés d'homophobie a travers cette chanson, il faut comprendre qu'il prend le point de vue de quelqu'un qui va se suicider et qui critique absolument tout le système et toutes les catégories de gens, c'est le principe du personnage qu'il a créé), ou encore "Plus rien ne m'étonne", qui est plus ancienne. Sinon, il y a "Athéna", une chanson d'amour qu'il a écrite, ou dans un autre registre, "Ils sont cool", dans lequel il délire avec un ami. J'aime aussi beaucoup "Elle viendra quand même" qui parle de la peur de la mort, et surtout, il y a "Notes pour trop tard" qui une masterpiece (il donne des conseils aux adolescents). Comme autre rappeur qui sont assez impliqués politiquement, il y a aussi Nekfeu, une légende du rap français. Je te conseille d'en écouter quelques unes de lui, "Nique les clones" par exemple. A nasty way to say that someone is dumb. In the 80's and 90's, this insult was very popular among the youth. In his song, Orelsan say "mongolien" for insult and used the common abreviation "mongol". But he also used the word "Mongol" to talk of the Mongol empire. To be clear, when he says that we give weapons to mongols, he talk about dumb cops. You can replace "mongols with dumb everytime, except when he say that we will fail like mongols. In that only line, he talk about the great Mongol empire who fall, like the Romans or the Egyptians.
