I’m amazed by how versatile Dan’s voice/delivery is. He can sing anything. He has me actually enjoying genres of music I’ve never listened to. I have my favorites of his songs, but I truly haven’t been disappointed by anything.

Don’t limit yourself to only one style of Dan’s music. Trust me I’m almost 71 and discovered metal through Dan. He is fantastic and makes you feel fantastic. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Dan could easily be a Broadway star but he belongs to Brazil. He takes on this part like he's performing on a stage in front of a live audience. Quite remarkable for a guy recording himself, alone, in his garage. Such a huge talent. I'm so grateful for KZbin!

DAn's brother is Davi (Dah vee) Vasc, and IMO he seems to be a world class guitarist. He has a you tube site as well. I have only heard one game cover of his, but it was unbelievable. He also plays on some of Dan's covers as well. Dan works with Lloyd Webber like Rice does. They were made for each other, and we win. I have a feeling if any of the three tenors had dabbled in musical theater, it might have sounded like this.

Funny your husband had that reaction, as my other half and my brother said the same thing (i'll not repeat my reaction!) Personally I LOVED his rendition of Amazing Grace and everything else since. I love the 'metal' voice too, surprisingly, as I'm in my sixties and it's never something I would have even entertained before. My son thinks having a 'Metal Mum' is hilarious but he also likes all of what Dan does too. If you just want a 'little metal' I'd say Mulan and see what you think. Have to see how the voting goes . . .

Yes, I think that he would do very well in musical theater. He has a definite presence and draws both the ear, and the eye. And, from what I can see in the videos I have watched, he is able to get into character quite easily. I caught your comment about your husband and how he didn't like the metal portion of Dan Vasc's "Amazing Grace." There is a school of thought that classical music and metal music are actually very close together in that they both have a similar level of complexity. That's, perhaps, most easily seen in the genre of symphonic metal. Many of the front singers in that genre are classically trained. A good example would be the group "Nightwish." All three of the women who have been lead singers in that band have had at least some classical training. I'm going to make a suggestion that kind of makes me giggle, but Nightwish has done a cover of the song "The Phantom of the Opera". It's from the "End of an Era" concert of 2005. It couldn't be a more different take on the Phantom than this one and purists will probably absolutely hate it. But, the duets between the Phantom and Christine are a great example of how a very metal voice, and a very much classically trained voice can meld and sound quite wonderful.

Dan does cover the Nightwish version of Phantom of the Opera as a duet with Dragica. Dan's other Nightwish covers are great, too. I think Dan has stolen Sleeping Sun from Nightwish ... it is better than the original. 😊

Love your reaction. Sorry you're not feeling well. I know from experience, that anything Dan is great medicine; physically, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually. When I'm feeling down, listening to Dan's music brings me up a few notches. And he can be silly like in his Beach Vlog. He kinda makes fun of his macho persona. Feel better sooner.

Dan went to college, until he realized he didn't want to keep going that way. He says that he didn't ask his parents. He just quit...BUT...before he told them, he made sure he had already started TEACHING singing to others, and had money coming in. I LOVE this video. You can tell how innately he FEELS every song he sings, and this one (in my opinion) is one of his best offerings on his channel). I say, "one of," because all but maybe half a dozen of them (actually the NIghtwish ones...sorry everyone else) are ALSO my favorites. On this one, when he ends it, I just want to fade out to black along with him, and help him make the music of the night, for sure! Davi ( Dah vee' ) is Dan's younger brother (by two years, I believe). Unlike Dan, though, Davi is married. I love Davi's channels, and spend quite a bit of time there, plus I'm one of his newest patrons. On his Davi Vasc channel, he has a variety of different videos, but the ones I love to watch the most, are the ones where he listens to game music, while NOT watching the play-through videos that have been sent him. He just starts taking the music apart and telling everyone what must be going on on the screen, due to whatever is happening with the music. He also explains things like the types of the chords, and why they sound like they do (for instance, "happy chords" vs "sad chords," etc.). He has a HUGE grasp of music theory, and knows how to explain it for laymen, VERY well. Being a gamer and musician/singer, myself, I really appreciate what Davi does with those videos, very much. He gets LOADS of comments about how well he has pinpointed what is happening on the game screens that he can't see while he's telling us about the music itself. He's just super accurate. Not only does Davi talk about all sorts of video games music tracks, he also COMPOSES OSTs (Original Sound Tracks) for games. His music is just GORGEOUS! I just purchased the piano version of his OST for the game Coromon, AND the digital, actual game version of the whole OST, as well. If you purchase those kinds of things from him through Bandcamp, he gets all but a tiny bit of what you pay (and you get to choose whether or not you'll pay just $7, or add some to the price. Anything added, goes entirely to him. So cool! I bought Hollow Night a couple of weeks ago, after seeing his reactions about that music. It's a great game! Since then, I've also seen him playing it...on his gaming channel. That's when I joined his Patreon, because I really like the way he plays, as much as the way he shows us the music. He's just a really great guy. I think you would have a great time reacting to some of his videos. 😀
