These videos were generated with Kutu, a realtime graphics application that I'm developing and hope to release in the future. The algorithms are similar to reaction-diffusion or float valued cellular automata -- a filter is applied to an input image, and the current output becomes the input image in the next frame.
They were captured in realtime with limited interaction -- when the system is "reseeded" from the input, there will be a subtitle indicating this.
