I can feel how the creators are trying to push the show in new and refreshing directions after a sense of stagnation recently. I’m liking it. Ncuti is great and so talented.

Absolutely loved this episode, especially Jinkx Monsoon as Maestro. Also, the fourth wall breaks were brilliant. The whole “non-diagetic” thing with the episode’s score was genius. The show’s composer, Murray Gold, was even in the episode as himself, playing the piano during the musical number at the end.😁👏

Honestly i think this new doctor is starting very well, the sensations are similar to matt smith, different from both yes, but similar to matt smith from the perspective that he is making his own doctor who version. Lets be honest, the best part of DR WHO is how the show manages to make every episode unique and something new to discover, and for now in both episodes we've seen that (and that was ONE of the weakest point of the flux, all been said, because every episode was predictable). For now what we have is: --- A mistery about the new Doctor's companion, similar to Amy Pond or Clara Oswald --- The Master Survived somehow? (he was trapped in the toymaker's golden tooth xD) --- A new alien species similar to goblins that can change the temporal lanes --- An spaceship from the future driven by spacial babies and a fake AI that are trapped with a xenomorph like creature --- A demigod from another dimension that is the toymaker's daughter and that like her father is far way beyond of the Doctor's capacities --- A creature that seems to be releasing the other demigods --- A final mistery called "the one who waits"... and whatever this one is, lets remember that the toymaker was affraid to talk about him Honestly, if we compare it with Matt Smith or David Tennant doctors we can see a similar pattern, and thats good. Is still too early to compare this new doctor with the others, but im just saying is a good start point :p

You seem to have forgotten about Susan Twist's appearance in every episode since RTD took over, all as different characters.

Also, gotta say, still a better scifi/fantasy music battle than Multiverse of Madness; Legion's music battles remain my fav in the genre

The specials are inbetween seasons/series so the last one shows up in lists before episode 14e01/01e01, it is ok to have it as 14e00/01e00.

I think Xmas specials are technically always classed as x0 and not counted in the season count. This would be episode 2 imo.

Really liked this one. Loved the Maestro performance being over the top, fabulous, fun but equally menacing. The only thing that bothered me is how the Beatles felt left to the side a bit. Sure they solved the problem, but those notes above the piano didn't even match what was played. And then the final song wasn't even Beatles inspired. I get that a song by them would have been way too expensive. But as a Beatles fan I would have wished for a bit more.

They are consistent. The Christmas special is "special" . Not considered an episode of the season.
