Reaction - Drag Race Brasil Season 1 Episode 6

So, for context: Helena was playing Narcisa, a Brazilian socialite known for being clueless and acting kinda crazy, but always in a loving funny way. Helena NAILED IT. It was like she was Narcisa herself. Shannon Skarlet played as Ines Brasil, she's an Brasilian icon dancer and performer known for her signature look and for her catch phrases, she also worked as prostitute for many years in Germany before coming back to Brazil. Unfortunately, Shannon didn't serve not even 50% of Ines Brasil, she's very out there and out loud and have this crazy funny personality that would demand Shannon to give a lot more to her performance. It was okay, overall though. Dallas played as Dilma Roussef, Brazil's first female ex president known for her unique speeches and way of talking - which Dallas got on point! A great night for her in the snatch game, a disaster in the runaway. Rubi was playing Marília Gabriela, Brazil's most famous interviewer which hosted for many years one of these talkshows where she interviewed famous people. Marília have a too specific type of voice and way of speaking and it was a slippery choice, which didn't pay off for Rubi in the end. Naza played Márcia Sensitiva, a Brazilian 'psychic' that is know for her aggressive bursts while speaking that come out of nowhere. Naza started good, she got the looks, but couldn't hold in character. Organzza played as Maria Bethânia, one of Brazil's most famous and iconic singers and loved by a great part of Brazil's LGBTQ+ community - unfortunately it's not very easy to make Maria Bethânia look funny since she have more of a dramatic and poetic aura about here, and it ended up being a 'meh' performance from Organzza. Miranda came as Paola Carosela, an Argentine chef that was host on Brazil's MasterChef for many years and is a dear for many brazilians. There was a gossip some time ago that she was a lesbian apparently - which she never said she was - so Miranda decided to play a bit with that, which was clever in my opinion, since Paola is not a comedy icon, so there wasn't much material to work with. A safe performance, but that could have gone really awkward if done wrong. Points to Miranda for doing Paola justice. And last but not least there was Betina playing a Brazilian meme Regina Rouca, which goes as something like Hoarse Regina. Regina is a regular Brazilian lady known for her rasp voice and for smoking a lot - she became quite popular doing reels during the pandemics saying some daily thoughts or 'words of wisdom' but always with some sort of twist on it. A funny performance from Betina that made justice to Regina's content. Hope to have helped!

Wow wow wow! You are awesome! This is a wonderful recap for someone like us having no clue about Brazilian culture. By reading your insightful info, I really see what their intentions were to make those celebrity impersonation alive. Like Miranda. That is a greag angle. And Betina. That's funny! I was wondering why Regina was celebriry when I was searching her pictures. She was really just a regular public heavy-smoking person.😂 That's hilarious. Awww I wished I knew more about the celebrities Hellena and Dallas did. Just like when we saw Vivianne's Trump in UK season 1, we would roll on the floor with laugh. Wow! Hellena was 100% Narcisa, but I loved Dilma. The runaway was fundamental for this episode.

Oh yay! I am glad to hear they had great Narcisa and Dilma. What did you think about Dallas' look?! I thought she was gorgeous and the head piece had a background story. But it was not screaming the theme.

The Taubaté pregnant lady was a lady who pretended to be expecting quadraplets. However her belly was massive, and people were intrigued by it. She went on national television and showed everyone an ultrasound, which was later found out to be fake, she’d taken it from Google and pretended it was hers. There were people thinking she was possibly lying, but some people believed her. She’s a national meme nowadays for deceiving an entire country back in 2011/2012 About the snatch game, Hellena and Dallas knocked it out of the park, I could literally see Narcisa and Dilma there. Shannon was ok, Bettina and Miranda did well, Naza and Organzza bombed it. Nevertheless it kinda sucked Rubi didn’t have enough screen time, I wish I could have seen more, but overall great episode

Thanks for the info about the fake pregnant lady. I would laugh more if I knew the wrongness of all of this. 😂 I still wonder why they had to do photoshoot, though. Hahaha Were Hellena and Dallas that good?! Yaaaaay for them. Hahaha That's awesome. I wished I knew more about the celebrities. Jimmy, the thing with Portuguese pronunciation is that when words start with an R, we pronounce them (mostly) with the sound of H in English. That's why Grag Queen said "Hubi Ocean". In Portuguese the H would not have the same sound as in English when it comes first on a word. By the way, I'm learning Japanese now, Mabo :)

Snatch game , personagens : 1- Dilma Rousseff - ex Presidente ( mulher ) do Brasil que sofreu impeachment , ela costumava falar por enigmas ruins que não fazia sentido . 2 - Narcisa Tamborindeguy - Mulher muito Rica que ficou conhecida após participar de um reality (que mostrava vida de várias mulheres muito ricas ) ela é conhecida por ser meio louca , engraçada , meme e é Diva dos Gays . 3- Márcia sensitiva - médium que aparecia nos programas de tv dos anos 90 , atualmente virou meme por dar opiniões muito sinceras ( grosseiras) na rádio aos ouvintes que pedem ajuda amorosas . 4- Ines Brasil - Ex prostituta que foi casada com alemão e morou na Alemanha nos anos 90 . atualmente voltou a morar no Brasil é a rainha dos memes , ela é extremamente sexual ao mesmo tempo que fala da palavras de Deus e agradece a Deus por tudo . 5 - Marília Gabriela - a entrevistadora mais famosa do Brasil há 30 anos entrevistando famosos no seu programa ( De frente com Gabi ) . Ela tem a voz grave . 6 - Paola carosella chef Argentina que se mudou pro Brasil no inicio dos anos 2000 , e ganhou fama como jurada do masterchef Brasil em 2010 , conhecida por ser muito dura e Sarcástica com os participantes do masterchef .

I would go wild in this episode and make a top 4 and bottom 4. Betina was also on point, no clue why she didn't have more screentime. Shannon and Organzza had very good looks, but to me, the worst Snatch overall was Organzza's. Being an actress herself she chose a very dififcult character. And the outcome was awful. Rubi was good in characterisation but got lost on the long lines and no punch lines. But to me, a gross mistake putting her to lipsync. Should have been Organza vs Naza with Naza leaving, most likely, as Organzza is the current front runner and is known to be a great lipsync performer.

Plus, Dallas and Hellena SLAYED their performances. Miranda was very good, but gave a very creative version of Paola Carosella, which was missing her characteristic argentinian accent.

Oh yay thank you!! Without knowing those celebrities, I thought Organzza and Naza would be falling into the bottom two, too. Organzza's look was amazing and did what they asked for, but she didn't answer or do anything in the main challenge other than posing. She even did not sing. 😅 Maybe it was cut to justify her performance to be safe and show more Ribi's failures during the editing process. Well, Naza might have gone if Organzaa was one of the bottom two. So, I am happy with that. I liked Rubi and she should have stayed longer. But I love Naza. I am so glad to hear from you!!! We were clueless what was exactly going on in the Snatch Game. Thank you so much!! ❤ hugs
