Reaction: Evanescence - Bring Me To Life! Wake me up inside!!!! This is definitely a banger!!!

Evanescence’s debut hit (March 29, 2003) “Bring Me to Life” (feat. Paul McCoy) rose to No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs. Too bad it was featured in the horrible movie, Daredevil, but it showed Amy Lee's Spidey skills! The song has garnered over 1 billion KZbin and continues to do numbers!
Written from the view point of a bad relationship, the song was actually written about her current husband Josh. The video is visually stunning with CGI falling and cuts to group and featured guess Paul McCoy! The song has a Nu Metal feel, but the group didn't want that label on them.

I am over 60 and my son turned me on to this band when he was a teenager. I really like them. He also turned me on to Linkin Park. The benefits of children is keeping you up to the new music. Yet I am a 70's kid and nothing compares to that-Zeppelin, Queen ect...

Evanescence is Amy Lee's band. The studio wouldn't let her release by herself bc they didn't know how successful a woman would be in the rock genre. So they made a compromise where she would release her debut album but the single they pushed had to feature male vocals too. If you listen to more Evanescence, you will only hear her. Also, as an fyi, Amy Lee is classically trained pianist, vocalist, and songwriter which is why I can never shower her with enough praise

Amy Lee is the lead in the band. Most of the tunes on this album have this fairly rare mix of Amy's searing voice surrounded by intense instruments; however, the biggest hit from the album is "My Immortal"... a slow-mellow tune that showcases her voice within deep hypnotic lyrics.

Not a one and done for sure. I'll tell you this, I've never heard a bad Evanescence song. Amy Lee's got the voice of a haunted angel. The band is always fire, beautifully deep lyrics (always check the lyrics). I'm sure people already said to react to their song "My Immortal," which was also on the Daredevil soundtrack. This and Brong Me to Life are probably their most famous songs. "Call Me When Your Sober" is another popular one. "Everybody's Fool," "Torniquet"/"Imaginary" (two separate songs, but I always listen to as one spng because for years I thought it was lol), "Lacrymosa" (Mozart's Lacrimosa sample), "Going Under". They have a lot of songs to choose from, honestly. And they do great music videos too...
