Man... I used to hate this song off of the MK soundtrack.. I even remember my dad busting into my room and saying "nice music Kyle" haha. It grew on me really quickly..then I got into FLA and Front242 and other iconic bands. Love this song but as for the best fear factory songs, I'd say "autonomous combat system", "final exit", pisschrist" etc etc. there are so many

What is your favorite FF album. I’m only asking because I’m probably one of the very few whose favorite FF album isn’t Demanufacture. My fav FF album is actually Genexus, then Demanufacture, then Aggression Continuum.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve listen to Fear Factory!😮 I should definitely go back to it though because they are great! They have some good songs that I remember loving and this one was one of them actually! That’s a trip to memory lane for me, when I listen to a little bit more thash😛 Awesome review there as always!!😊

Thanks! For me they weren't so much down my alley of preference cos I often go for the more modern, techy sounds and also the vocals didn't really do it for me. But it's still a pretty strong track! It's great to know we're sending you on nostalgic routes though! Thanks for watching. Much appreciated! /Andrei

I was in high school when this album came out - but I wouldn’t know this band existed until about 10 years later when my wife introduced me to them. I’m surprised how much their sound is similar to another mid 90s band Type O Negative. Shocking given how their sound evolved from here. My biggest complaint with Fear Factory is just that their stuff tends to sound very similar from track to track. Sort of like how Wolfheart has this general guitar tone / vibe through most of their songs, Fear Factory tends to have very similar drumming patterns in their later works. Not in every song, but often enough I’ve noticed it at least. It’s not a huge negative, but it can take me out of the moment on occasion.
@thewindmillfullovcorpses
@thewindmillfullovcorpses 3 жыл бұрын
Also barely had any connection with Type O but I'll take your word for it. Also this is the only FF song we heard so can't comment on similarity to other songs but they definitely have a patent as does Wolfheart. Drumming patterns are a huge source of dynamics in songs if used properly so it sounds like a bit of a waste to keep it repetitive. But that's all hypothetical on my end. / George

I started listening to Fear Factory in the late 90s with their album Obsolete. I had been listening to early Metallica, Megadeth, and Testament for a while but this was the heaviest music I had listened to at the time. It was a big influence on the direction my metal journey has headed more recently, getting into even heavier music like Melodic Death, Tech Death, and whatever genre you put An Abstract Illusion In 🤣. I just happened upon your channel the other day and am enjoying it a lot. 🤘

Again have had a fair chat on this elsewhere with you, so won't bore you with too much waffle xD. One thing that's interesting with this for me is it had me thinking, how much of what we view as brutality is tied up in production sound with extreme metal. A lot of the 90s stuff has what Andrei described beautifully as a 'recorded in a shed in Norway' vibe, which gives it that extremity, but doesn't make it bassy and ear-punching in the way we now relate to 'brutal' bands. I would probably say the most 'brutal' Fear Factory tracks are either Default Judgement or bizarrely their absolutely inspired cover of Nirvana's School, which they turn up to 111 and turn it into this bizarre super-industrialized but mega catchy pounder. I'm off to listen to some Ascend The Hollow now as if they take some Fear Factory away with them I will no doubt enjoy them very much. For the first three albums, Fear Factory were THE band for me growing up. Sidebar aside from Orbit Culture, other bands I'd say definitely take some of this sound but bring it into the 2020s are Conflict (the Russian one not the UK one, who are also rad but nothing like this, being a metallicish anarcho punk band), Spoil Engine, and honestly probably the first 6 or so Soilwork albums. I can shoot you recommends from those if you fancy, you'll doubtless enjoy them based on our general natters, regardless of if you feel the Orbit/FF type connection.

Yeah, Norway sheds are great man! And do check out Ascend the Hollow, they're freaking amazing, I suggest Prisoners of the Storm or Polaris Calling as an introduction but seriously just stream the whole damn album. It cracked my top 10 in 2019. Also their singer just joined Rage of Light, who I assume you might know (Napalm Records trance-electro metal band, super cool). I think I've heard some Conflict but don't remember much as for others feel free to shoot suggestions but it will be a looooooooooong time til' we get to them, if ever. Times are uncertain, but we do appreciate you being here. All the best! /Andrei

Guys you literally took all the emotion out of that build up by stopping right at the drop and talked for 5 minutes and then just started where you left off. Now the climax isn’t a climax. I just don’t understand it.

Nothing worse than seeing someone wreck their own first listen by pausing right in the middle of songs, and then comment on the pacing of the song too lol 😂 Pet peeve of mine on reaction vids is the pausing. Otherwise love it

@@thewindmillfullovcorpses I get that it's a first listen. But any metal head or even a music lover in general can tell the drop is coming as indicated by the build up and the kick-roll. Come on. Don't tell me you can't tell the drop is coming. It's very obvious you stopped it just before the drop on purpose.
