Gabriella's Song is taken from the Swedish movie, As it is in Heaven, it deals with the dark subject of domestic abuse, and how Gabriella escapes from her situation. So it's not proper opera. In fact a lot of opera arias are quite short, listen to La Virgine degli angeli by Amira, it's only a couple of minutes long. And her o mio babinno caro is only apparantly longer, because Amira repeats it. When you are selecting which video to pick to review, I recommend going for who posted it - amira willighagen official, or amira's archive, are best. Though some songs are only available by other people who have posted them - gsacni does a lot, and Ray Vandenburg put up quite a few with subtitles on which is useful for all those foreign languages Amira sings in. Amira was 14 singing this at Morletapark in Pretoria, there are videos of performance's in the 5 years since then. Pie Jesu 2023 is one of her most recent releases. It's released by her official site if you want to be loyal to the artist. Thanks for the reaction, and the reviews of her performance's.

Not actually opera, but Amira's operatic voice does suit the song. She is 19 now. For up-to-date songs try Gesu Bambino, or the Delft Concert in the Netherlands. Again, not opera, but worth a look.

Amira sings this song in almost perfect Swedish, a language shedoesn't understand and doesn't speak. The songis from a Swedish movie called "As It Is in Heaven" - so you hit the nail, when you saidthat you during listeningto the singinging felt as if you were up in the clouds!
