Honestly, I didn't think Ford was all THAT bad. Like that joke of being an uncle/grunkle/grandparent after all.. Taking care of and being responsibility of the parents - meanwhile the grandparents are over there spoiling a grandchild with as much candy as they can possibly shove into them. Also, it's not like he was forcing Dipper to take an apprenticeship, he offered it to him - not really taking advantage of him.. what was there for Ford to gain from it? And like I said before.. despite it being dangerous, that feels like a 12-13 year old boy's DREAM (and even without it, Dipper and Mabel have been in TONS of dangerous situations even without Ford, remember put-put golf where they all almost got killed multiple times?). And to be frank, being an anomaly chaser feels like something Dipper would want to grow up doing, it's his thing. I think in an episode he said his dream was to get a degree in film production and make a ghost chasing show (which feels like self insertion from Alex Hirsch probably). Also, he was trapped in a weird dimension for the last 20 years, that cow farmer guy spent 3 seconds in a weird bubble and absolutely lost his mind.

While I do agree freeing Mabel is definitely a priority he is thinking logically and critically Bill’s body os fresh and at the weakest right now he said it himself he’s only gonna grow stronger and stronger being in our dimension if there was ever a time to strike at him with a weapon you’ve been developing to take down Bill it be NOW!… but yeah they could have split Dipper going for Mabel and Ford going to take the shoot.

In the apocalypse, you'd send a child on a rescue mission? Idk about you, but I agree with Ford. He's not perfect and made many avoidable mistakes, but his decision to take down Bill first is not one of them imo (especially since taking down Bill also saves Mabel).

I think Ford has emotionally detached himself from everyone. I don't think he saw Dipper's need for him to know Mabel was okay. I too am a highly logical emotionally detached person so I understand this, but as I grow older I do also understand the importance of the interpersonal bonds of those with a greater need for it. I get entirely why the Gallifrey Gals don't like Ford. Ford is depriving Dipper of a human need. Not everyone can just detach themselves from everyone else for the greater needs of the world, let alone a 12yo boy. Because Ford sees Dipper as himself to the point of projecting himself on Dipper, he just can't see his actions and words toward Dipper as a problem. And Dipper is likely not be mature enough to see it as a problem.

5:01: To be fair, taking out Bill would be easier. So Ford decided to try that first instead. Besides, Ford and Dipper didn't know where Mabel was at at the time. Where would they even look? Also, they had to stay low when Bill was near. And it's not like Ford doesn't care for Mabel. He even said she was a good person in "The Last Mabelcorn". No Bill Cipher. No Weirdmageddon. Thus Mabel's bubble would break.

Understandable. The point of that scene wasn't the show saying the ship could happen or would be acceptable. It was just to imply that Gideon has the potential to become a better person. It wouldn't make sense for the show to go back on Mabel's hatred and disgust towards him after all he's done. It's an important scene, and I agree with you completely. I think the most they could ever be is distant friends/acquaintances. Like two friends on opposite ends of a friend group. They would only be around each other if they were hanging out with one other person that they are both friends with, or if they absolutely had to work together for some common goal.

Honestly I would react the same way as Ford. I get the while family thing but Bill has just gained physical form and he's only gonna get stronger. If he didnt strike him down quick with the gun it would be impossible to do so again. Bill is a danger to all if Gravity Falls and the world, which would take priority over a single person. Especially one he babaiscally just met and doesnt know all that well.

One of the things I love about Gravity Falls is the continuity and character growth. They spent a lot of time on Dipper's character development to (somewhat) get over his crush on Wendy, and that's what gave him the perspective to give that speech to Gideon and put it in a way that made sense to him. I love that the 2 residents of Gravity Falls who you hate the most for the majority of the show's run (Gideon and Pacifica) both get redemption arcs.

Loved how the intro and theme song of the show were corrupted! Disappointed the same thing did not happen to yours. I knew Pacifica’s dad had it coming but that was quite a shocker! I think I might have said this before but I am old and have ha]d a stroke, so my memory fails me at times- It seems like y'all appreciate a strong female lead. It would be great to see you react to both Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is 7 seasons and might be thought of as too much to bite off, or Arcane, which is only 1 season so far, 9 episodes, 3 chapters, 3 episodes each- Both excellent shows with epic strong females featured.

Even though Gideon and his posse' tried to stand up to Bill, what did they do? Just yell at him or riot for him to come down something? Did they ever access the fearamid or did Bill bring them up? I mean, Keyhole did report to Bill about Gideon letting the Pines family escape but what happened? Did the prisoners ask Keyhole to report to Bill or was Keyhole patrolling outside of the Fearamid and just happened to run into the prisoners? Bill did tell Keyhole to "Take the rest of the day off" after all. I have so many questions about this.

Honestly people getting mad at the Ford criticism [some even hating on Mabel] is annoying, I'm honestly with you on the Ford talk. I like my flawed characters, and Ford is very much flawed- he does project his issues on Dipper, if he let Dipper tell Mabel about the rift she would've never given it to 'Blendin', among other things. I'm glad that finally some people can see the flaws in Ford, and the good in Mabel because most reactors feel like the opposite or simply neutral ground- which that last part is fine as well.
