I knew you would love this song😊 Lee Greenwood ( the first Gentleman to sing ) is the original singer and songwriter of this song he released it in 1984 but it gained a lot of popularity after the horrible tragedy of 9/11. Home Free themselves did another version before this. Tim wrote a song called Land Of The Free

That gentleman in the beginning was Lee Greenwood who wrote and sang the song in the 80’s. It was a big hit for him. He wanted to do it over. This was during the pandemic too. So good! Love it!

Lee Greenwood still sounds fantastic! The addition of Home Free & the U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants elevates the song even above Mr. Greenwood's original (he said that because of the other voices, he could actually do more than he could with the original). I think you'd also like Tim's original "Land of the Free". Love from a Canadian subscriber.

The power of this rendition knows no bounds! Produced in different studios during the pandemic, Lee and his song have become, yet again, legends. I tear up a bit every time I watch this video. I remember the original by Lee in 80s, it's resurgence following 9/11, and have a lot of personal history attached to it. Most of all, I thank you for your service.

SO glorious! Very cool how they got this done despite the pandemic! ❣️🎼🥰🎶♥️ If you haven't already, you should also check out Home Free's version of this song they did at Mt. Rushmore. It's just them (when Chris Rupp was still part of the group) and Adam did the full-on vocal percussion even back then--including the flyover ✈️ sounds at the end, which always gives me an extra dose of goosebumps 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I love Lee Greenwood. This is one of my most favorite songs of his. I love this version then I also went to a school with a guy who sang in the US Army and got to sing this with him backstage at a hockey game he was at. He sang with them after they had preformed it already. Lee Greenwood is awesome. I love Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys & Home Freee as well.

This is another one that makes me tear up every time I hear it or watch the video. This version is by far my absolute favorite!! This video is what sparked my interest in Home Free a few years ago. I saw it on Facebook and looked them up. Ring of Fire was the next video and it was down into the rabbit hole from there. I honestly cannot say enough positive things about this group. They put their own spin on every cover they do, and I don't think I've yet to hear a cover that I didn't prefer more than the original.

Everyone keeps putting this as a Home Free song. It isnt. It's a Lee Greenwood song. He released it in 1984. When he decided tp update it he asked both the The US Air Force Band and Home Free to join him.
