Reaction: Impaled Nazarene - Eight Headed Serpent + Satanic Hot Sauce [OPINION]

Impaled Nazarene is a second wave black metal band. The term second wave black metal isn't used to describe a certain style within black metal such as Norwegian black metal. It's just used to describe the new wave of Black metal bands that started forming and taking off in the late 80's to early 90's. Impaled Nazarene was one of those bands.

Finally heard the Eight Headed Serpent - it is pretty good. IN are still going strong!

Henkilökohtaisesti kun en itse ikinä pitänyt oikeen 2000-2010 aikakauden Pro patria finland, Peace doesn't mean abscene jne radiorock henkisestä impaledistä, mielestä tämmöinen levy jossa ilmeisesti on hieman tarkoitus ottaa askelta vanhaan suuntaan, ja tehdä hieman genreen kuuluvaa "itseään toistavaa" mutta toimivalla konseptilla menevää kamaa tuntuu virkistävältä, ja vaikkei levy olisikaan mitenkään kovin erityinen, niin kumminkin on uuden materiaalin tekeminen ja julkaiseminen aina tärkeä osa aktiivisen bändin kehitystä suuntaan tai toiseen. Vaikken olekkaan vielä kuullut levyä, niin odotan mielenkiinnolla.

I bought some discs from a guy in Russia, from Discogs. He also sells hot sauces, craft beers and distilled spirits. His hot sauces are Sauces From Utter Hell. I've been trying to get some of the hot sauces. You might have better luck in Finland.

I'm a big fan of IN up until Rapture. After Nihil and their change of style I lost my interest, I've had a quick listen to all of their albums after that but I was always a little disappointed. This album though seems to be a return to their roots with less melodies and more grindcore/hardcore riffs, but something is missing, it's not the same and the reason is that no one from the original guitar players are still in the band, the other reason is that, as you said, Mika has lost his edge, his vocal cords sound a little tired and it's perfectly normal after all these years. He does some cool screams here and there but overall he sounds a little flat.

Aye, I can agree with all the points you make. It's not bad by no means, but it's not very good either. Some fans seem to like it a lot though, and I guess that's what counts: serving the fans, even if not making any new ones.
