Welcome to metal! So basically how she is doing that is her vocal cords are open and the folds above it (especially the false cords) flap around and create a bunch of overtones. Those overtones are then manipulated by the jaw, tongue, and lips. This technique is called false cord screaming. There is another technique that is commonplace which is fry screaming. The difference between false cord screaming is that the vocal cords are pretty close to closed and air is going through and making a static like sound. Both techniques are pretty safe as long as you know what you are doing and have warmed up. Also, both techniques are actually pretty similar to kargyraa throat singing(the difference between throat singing and harsh vocals is that in throat singing the vocal cords are phonating while in harsh vocal they are not). As you saw females are definitely capable of doing it. Here are some of the female screamers that I find really impressive(excluding Tatiana): 1. Chelsea Murphy (Dawn of Ouroboros - Spiral of Hypnotism) (fry screams) 5. Som Pluijmer & Missi Avila (Your Chance to Die - Ignite the sky) (false cord screams) 6. Ira Sidenko (Dehydrated - Sickness) (false cord screams) 7. Yuna Imada (Passcode - Trace LIVE in Tokyo 2018) (fry screams) 8. Lauren Hart (Once Human - Sledgehammer) (false cord screams) 9. Eissa Zhovnerchuk (Morphide - Panopticon) (fry screams) 10. Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy - Nemesis LIVE in Japan 2008) (false cord screams)

Her name is Tatiana and she’s the absolute Queen of metal 🖤 She is self-taught. She used to practice screaming into her pillow lol She uses false vocal cords and pure talent. The usual progression for Jinjer reactions is Perennial then Teacher Teacher.. eventually making it to I Speak Astronomy and Judgement and Punishment.. but it doesn't really matter.. anything from Jinjer is top notch.. oh and her name is Tatiana!

Floor is amazing.....but tati has the best female growls period. Hell....she's probably top 5 growls including guys. Her growl range is insane and her diction is as clear as can be. I easily place her up there with Randy Blythe, in top tier.

Great reaction! Tatiana is the vocalist and is amazing at her craft. It took her many years of practice to get where she's at now. Since you like live better, I'd recommend Perennial (live at Wacken *pronounced Vah-ken*) or Who is Gonna Be the One (live). My simple take regarding her "Satanic" voice: If you were a selfless fish (Pisces) who wanted to see the world but was a bit skittish, and then got into the nets and was hooked by handsome butchers who proceed to rip away your scales and entrails (emeralds)... you'd growl too! So you see, sometimes the lyrics call for extreme vocals in a song. Tatiana (who's not singing as someone possessed, so you can toss the garlic back into the spaghetti sauce) wrote an incredible story and sang about it the way it deserved to be sung... as with most of her songs. Some vocalist just keep singing in their nice and charming voice even when the lyrics call out desperation. Not so with Tati. Her extreme expression - a rare ability - adds so much more to a song... especially if you follow the music with the lyrics and how the beautiful cacophony tells the story.
