This song is actually about environmental pollution, mainly from corporations. The title is describing all the smoke coming from industrial factories, creating clouds like a "cloud factory".

Tatiana said they were driving by an industrial area and the smoke stacks looked like they were making clouds, a cloud Factory. Tatiana is an absolute boss. The band is borderline virtuosic. The Drummer Vlad, he's a concert trained pianist. There's a video floating around of him playing Rachmaninoff.

A great early Jinjer song is Destroy. It was originally a song by the founding (male) vocalist but he got a chance to join a band in the US (or at least moved to the US and is currently in a band in the L.A. area) then Tati was recruited and she brutally owned the song. Best sound is the Beastarium recording session video from 2012. There's two verses where the original recording had alternating clean and growled lines cut together but Tati... well, you'll just have to see for yourself. ;)

I suggest Waltz also live at Beastiarium 2011 along with Scissors from their first EP Inhale, Do Not Breathe. If you want to know anything about Jinjer go to Ukrainian Metal Bands channel they have old & new interviews subs available for those older ones & old songs performed by Tatiana like Abyss, Angels & Destroy from the first singer Maksym Fatullaiev demo EP. Even a song played just once from Inhale, Do Not Breathe, called Ojects In Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear, which also was the name of the demo EP.

And that dude has some long ass dreads! He said it was the first time they had ever performed in America--they're from Ukraine. The bassist was absent, having had a visa problem. Here you can see Tatiana showing her belting rock-style vocals, inspired by Sandra Nasic, singer of the german band Guano Apes. 🙂 If you're going to go all the way down the "rabbit hole", you might as well add all the guitar, bass and drums' playthroughs. They're spread throughout Jinjer, Napalm Records and OD Guitars YT channels. I think you'll enjoy watching more in detail the intricate work these guys do, that it's usually hard to notice in the music videos.

Fact Check: Eugene was already practicing (Brazilian) Jiu-jitsu long before the pandemic. He has said in several interviews that when they were on tour he'd always check if there was a gym nearby so that he could practice on their days off. He even got Tatiana to start practicing it too but like in so many things in her life (which she has no trouble admitting to), she got fed up of it and stopped. 🙂

First album title track , released 2014 , back when they still were a 5 piece. They've rearranged these older songs for the current 4 piece lineup. Last original member, rhythm guitarist Dmitriy Oksen, left in 2015 to pursue acting. He has appeared in Jinjer music videos since, including "Disclosure" from the Wallflowers album. Since you are enjoying Jinjer , you might like to check out Spiritbox. Think you'll love Courtney's vocals too. If interested , suggest "Jaded" to start.

@@VocalCitizenagreed, next to Jinjer Spiritbox are one of my favorite bands, and are close in genre. Courtney is an amazing singer. I recommend you check out their recent EP, The Fear of Fear, which is sa brilliantly interconnected flow from one song to the next, the end wrapping around to the beginning again. Brutal and beautiful. I have a whole list of cool female-fronted metal bands that I've discovered recently (Jinjer was my gateway drug to the world of harsh/extreme vocals). Jinjer is the best. But there are some other excellent examples out there. You might try Ankor, Future Palace, Monochromatic Black, brand new band Gore., or my personal favorite: IKINÄ from Finland. They have TWO badass female singer/screamers who both cover a similar range as Tatiana--and they do it in harmony! Try their video for Rituaali from their recent eponymous album.

If you noticed, the guitar/bass sounds a little higher pitched because it's in drop C rather than drop A. All songs written from King of Everything album and after are in drop A. Who is Gonna Be the One was also in from the Cloud Factory album, but they changed it to drop A for live, but kept this one as it was in drop C. They stopped playing anything in this tuning (and most songs from the Cloud Factory album) around the pandemic. I saw them in '19 and they did an instrument change mid-set to play songs from both eras. An easy tell if it's a drop C song is Roman is playing an OD Rhea (as seen here) and Eugene is playing a 4 string bass instead of a 5.

@@VocalCitizen - Let me add that the reason they stopped playing the drop C song regularly was because after the release of the Micro EP and the Macro album (which were released in the same year), they had to promote the newer songs plus the King of Everything "hits" and it made no sense continuing to play old songs.

I wouldn't say Tati is a rabid atheist. She is of the generation from Ukraine which is most likely to ask the question "if there is a God as you say why do these things happen to people?". She and the rest of the band have all seen a lot and if even if someone thinks they have an answer for them it's going to be hard to convince them. In that vein one of the lines in their song Mediator is about her wanting to grab God by the beard and drag him down to the dirty streets to see what's going on. She has said in interviews that she loves Christmas time festivities and decorations. Most die hard atheists I've seen couldn't tolerate any of that anywhere near them. I'm guessing that she has the same view I have of it all. I hate what human beings sometimes do with religion, not necessarily the idea of it or the people who practice it and are good to others.

Not willing to enter any religious debate, just to point out some things. 'If there is a God..' sentence you mention is a question any freethinking young individual is bound to pose to himself, has nothing to do with generations. As for the 'atheists that don't tolerate Christmas festivities and decorations', I think you'd be surprised how many people do just that, enjoy the feeling of family reunion and belonging to something greater than themselves, me being the first and I know a fair amount of people that do the same without believing in any deity.
@coder4liberty
@coder4liberty 21 күн бұрын
@@tomislavkosanovic1104 Okay first of all I didn't suggest all atheists are that way. I am talking about militant/overbearing atheists which I contend Tatiana is not. Secondly I said the band is of the generation FROM UNKRAINE which is more likely to ask that question primarily because of the horrors due to war in their country they have seen and experienced. No American and a great many others have any concept of what that is like and how it makes one question why bad things happen to good people. There are Russian Orthodox priests on the Russian lines blessing artillery shells before they are shot at Ukrainians including civilians. Literally nothing anybody in the west experiences holds a candle to that kind of insanity. So I think you missed the point of what I posted.

@@VocalCitizen - One big clue is the phrase at the end of the 2nd verse of I Speak Astronomy: _"If there is a God out there, he is just a guest"_ _"Sitting in his spaceship, observing the parade"_
@VocalCitizen
@VocalCitizen 21 күн бұрын
I know many atheists who still enjoy the camaraderie of religious holidays. I find joy in that, knowing that they're not shunning the practice, just the origins... I believe faith is super personal and no one views it the same as another, so no one has the right to judge anyone's belief systems. I think ALL religions have the names of deities and the stories wrong, but you'll notice the basic story lines are ubiquitous across world religions, so there's truth in there somewhere, despite the differences. To each his own... In my view, as long as you're not a d!ck about things and don't victimize or otherwise hurt people, you're good in my book.
