Better late than never Zeus. Lara is unique. She's now 50 and still sings amazingly well, still looks great. She was part of the jury in "The Voice" France last year as well. "Adagio" means "slow" in Italian, and is used in musical notation ( like "presto -"fast). It is the name popularly given to a slow composition by 18th century composer Albinoni, adapted in the late 20th century. Lara used this "slow" music to her own lyrics, and the song "Adagio" was born.

This music has long been a favorite. It's beauty is unappealed. I've heard several popular singers sing their unique lyrics to this extraordinary classical piece of music. For me two stand out above them all... Sarah Brightman ( Anytime, Anywhere) which is Adagio with unique lyrics, and this, Lara Fabian's version ) both in English and Italian). Lara's makes me weep with it's power, longing, aching, and pleading. Her power is out of this world, her delivery is mesmerizing, and she brings out the soul stirring beauty of this composition. Hey Emerson, what a great choice to do a Lara Fabian song! She's sooo amazing! She doesn't just sing, she's a true story teller almost a song actress. You have to react to "Je Suis Malade" from the same concert! OMG, she hypnotizes me! Adagio is a musical instruction to play the composition at a slow tempo. Like Allegro is kind of the contrary, meant to play the composition in a fast, bright way ;) The only person that makes me feel music like her is Angelina Jordan and I sincerely hope that when she grows up she can follow on Lara's steps 💖 Of course, the ranges for now are different, but the emotion is there!

She is definitely one of the best vocalists worldwide. so much emotions. Adagio was once an instrumental piece by Albinoni. Later the italian lyrics were added, until Lara wrote the english version. true materpiece. Here is a playlist of a selection of renditions including Laras Version in italian.
