The japanese rock bands like LUNA SEA don't be define in just a western rock style, because their musical influences are super wide!: rock, metal, goth, progressive, punk, pop, in the case of LS are combine in their different albums and eras. I really appreciate you react to my favorite band in the world, because their are amazing and more people need to open their mind to japanese rock :)

X-Japan started the "Visual"(in the US was the "Hair-bands") rock band movement in japan. Luna Sea was one of the bands who followed in their footsteps. the lead guitarist is currently taking Hide's(original lead guitarist/rip) place in X-Japan when they tour. Also Buck-Tick/Malice Mizer/The Gazette/Dir En Grey/Glay/Mucc/Gackt/L'Arc en Ciel are all great bands that came out after them.

Glad that you enjoyed them! You could try reacting to Zessai by Sugizo (Guitarist of Luna Sea) and Kyo (Vocalist of Dir En Grey), its really psychedelic and unique!

When these guys broke up around 2000 I was gutted. They got back together about 10 years later and actually played a show in the US and I went. I've seen a lot of amazing bands live, but Luna Sea is still the best.

They really are incredible live. It's a particular kind of chemistry some bands just have more than others

There is a link with X-Japan as Sugizo (black and white guitar) also plays guitar and violin with X-Japan at the moment.

At 5:01, weird transcription of the lyrics: "I'm forty for one for me". The actual lyrics sung by J are "words 'only God knows' won't work for me".

I think the song IS from the '90s. "Rosier" and "Beams" by Kuroyume usually make up my mood. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4Wcp5yHjZtqhNU "少年 (Shounen)" means "boy". kzbin.info/www/bejne/ml7Ednaubqusf8U btw they are inspiration for Kyo (Dir en grey) too. Early Kuroyume = early DeG.
