Each character that you recruit has different benefits, like if you can earn or lose more coins or roll higher numbers with certain people. Also you can steal your friends characters if you land in the same spots. All 4 players move at the same time and it's up to you if you want to go after coins, characters, or sabotage others. It looks a lot better in the event.

1. if you recruit characters they help you get a higher dice roll 2. this is just one game mode 3. I agree with you with the boss battles (the only boss battle I like was the final boss in Mario party 8 in the star battle arena)

During the Treehouse gameplay, Luigi had a 7 on his dice and a bunch of lower numbers. They said Waluigi had three high numbers and the other three sabotage yourself.

Josh, if you had watched the Treehouse Live demonstration, you would have known that that was just one mode in the game. That's the only mode they showed for the whole game, and obviously there's going to be more, since they straight up said that this is just one mode in the game.

Relax dude its only in early development so dont worry they will let you choose what character you want to play as because there only showed one mode in both trailer and gameplay from the Nintendo Treehouse and besides im freakin glad they removed the Mini Stars at least.

Each player can have up to 4 teammates, making a team of 5 maximum. Say each player has the maximum amount of teammates, so in a boss minigame there will be 20 players at once. 15 being CPUs.

Nope, you choose which recruitment you want to play as in the mini game, so there is only 4 players at once in mini games.

That's in normal minigames. In boss minigames, it's what I had said. In the treehouse livestream, someone had won because of the advantage of having the maximum capacity of teammates. This is shown in the King Boo boss fight.

I think because of Captain Toad, the character Toad has become super popular in Japan. Actually thinking about this game actually inspired me into thinking how this series could evolve, and I think the game could be crazy fun if each game board could do something like modelling the gameboard of other games. Maybe one board can be something like Monopoly or Candy Land, another can be like Shoots and Ladders. Maybe one can resemble one of those adult party games like Pictionary and Cards against humanity. There could be a board like a Tabletop RPG. A 1-1 transformation would be boring, but a fusion of ideas could be amazing. I just think Mario Party needs to stop thinking about how to change things up, make more clever minigames and such, and instead, think of "How can I get people around to the same room to play". An Online mode could even be interesting, but it would need to be different than just being online, it should be interpersonal and convenient.

Many moons ago, without playing any other installments, I played Mario Party 2 on the original N64 and had an absolute blast. But, just by looking at Mario Party 10, and, even after getting the game for Christmas, I can already tell that the game was gonna suck (seriously, why cars?).............but, this..............this is kinda pushing it, Nintendo. We have asked, and asked, and ASKED for a return to just a simple Mario Party game for YEARS. Yet, Nintendo seems to just keep trying to fix a formula that didn't NEED fixing. Maybe it's because of what happened with Hudson, I dunno. All I can say is.............good luck, Josh, with Mario Party: Star Rush. Maybe it'll be good, but, judging from what we've seen, I'm not getting my hopes up.

It's actually not that complicated it just looks like it is. I watched the hole Nintendo treehouse live stream and it is sooooooo slow it takes ages till you get to play a mini game. Also the mario characters give you special die and other stuff i think.

I loved mario party ds with download play. I think you recruit players for more rolls and other special effects, the overall game looks interesting, more interesting than the bloody car at any rate. The game boards do look very plain though.

The only good aspect of Mario Party for me has always been the mini-games. Not only did they make it a pain in the ass to play the good ones because you have to play a ton to unlock them all, but now they seem to be moving away from making compelling mini-games entirely. And yea a handheld isn't great with how most people play the 3DS, traveling, alone in bed, etc. If they have single-cart local play for all of the mini games though, that does open it up for games that work specifically with separate displays. With multiple systems, you can do both the single camera things AND stuff where everyone is doing their own thing. Stealth stuff, big mazes, card/bluffing games, etc, along with anything you'd imagine from Wii U where one person get's singled out to do something separate while the others see another screen together.

What I thought it looked like is that you fight the bosses, and the winner gets a star. Everything else looks pointless, the characters, items, and coins. Landing on the boss space yourself provides a negligible head start. I'm hoping there's more modes worth playing more than once.

I think he doesn't like Toad because, rather than play as other beloved Mario characters, we now only play as just Toad. Sure, we can collect them, but it's not the same as playing Wario or Luigi themselves. It also might have to do with the fact that in Sticker Star and Color Splash, most of the NPCs are just generic Toads.

One thing that is killing the hype for this game for me is the lack of actual mini-games. So far the only mini-games they showed were the boss battles and the VS battles. I also hate the toads... Stop using regular toads and let us use Captain Toad, he at least has a personality.
