Goosebumps. Every time. Annette absolutely *crushed* this, and with the Gospel backing singers…they raised it to a spiritual experience!

One of my favorite songs by Anette. Ballads by Nightwish are really emotional so no surprise this one hits you. And you got a guitar solo that beautifully breaks in. And the cluster with vocals in the end, what a gospel metal feeling. Thänx for the reaction, greetings from Nightwish land.

I also cannot understand from where on earth Tuomas always -song by song- draws these beautiful, haunting melodies. He is absolutely one of the greatest Composers and also such a great lyrical Mastermind. I,m mesmerized of his talent. This was also perfect song for Anette's voice, very beautiful and powerful. Goose pumps all over. I'm so happy Nightwish exists and has given us fans mesmerizing music experiences already since 1996. Thank you very much for reacting this Masterpiece 🤘🙏

It is not a church choir, as Nigthwish is secular, but it is the London Philharmonic choir.

They made it sound like a gospel choir though, normal classical choirs don't have riffs like that

I think that this song Tuomas really wrote with personal emotions and fitted it for Anette who did awesome job. And yes I suppose there is a choir in the end with Anette and Marco.
@ruma96873 жыл бұрын
There's not. The choir's name is mentioned in the albums booklet. Metro voices or something like that
@kimmikke_2 жыл бұрын
@@ruma9687 it is Metro Voices Choir (London), they work closely with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, that Tuomas uses a lot also for the Orchestral instruments and effects.

Very beautifully composed & sensitively performed, I do agree that Anette does not have the vocal strength of Tarja & Floor, but then again she was very, very productive with Nightwish in that mid-era, also agree that she really shines with Slow love slow, & also with Scaretale...

Every time Naka gets emotional listening to a Nightwish song, my eyes fill up with tears too 🥺. I don't miss my childhood, I mean, I wouldn't want to return there, but I miss that feeling of awe and wonder that only young chidren are able to experience. When you're an adult, the world around you doesn't look so magical anymore 😔. No doubt, Tuomas often feels nostalgic for his lost childhood, therefore this is a recurrent theme in many Nightwish songs...This feeling is described very well in DT's legendary 'A Change Of Seasons' too, but that's a whole different story. 😁

Huh ... every time I think I've seen pretty much all Nightwish reactors (at least those who stay on it for more than 1 or 2 songs) someone totally new pops up. 😅 And you already seem to know so much. Nice reaction, nice seeing the emotions! 😊 So ... although you have metalhead in your name, I have a suggestion that's not exactly metal. Check out The Warning if you like. They're 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico doing hard/alternative rock. They love crashing stereotypes! And they're really good despite also being really young! 😊 Have a nice day! 😊

@NakatheMetalhead4 жыл бұрын
Well, I told what song I think she shines in most :)
@mnewm214 жыл бұрын
What do you consider her strengths? if I think of the three singers her tone and fragility of voice suits this perfectly. The other two lead singers Nightwish have had, have too much weight in their voices for this song. It's always personal taste though.
@StergiosMekras4 жыл бұрын
@@mnewm21 Anette is best for rapid-fire lyrics and a more witchy and/or playful tone, as far as I'm concerned. She's not bad otherwise, but she can't reach the heights of Tarja ...and Floor easily outclasses her in most ways.
@beldin29874 жыл бұрын
@@StergiosMekras For me she is great in this song, and when i think about Anette her strength for me is just singing in the studio, or better said her biggest weakness is singing live.
@mnewm214 жыл бұрын
@@StergiosMekras ok. I was curious as it is interesting to see where people place singers. For me this song is perfect for her as I really like the contrast between her voice and the choral singers. I don't know that she was the right choice for Nightwish really as the existing fans were never going to take to her very different sound and I think that is where Floor succeeds. Her abillity to capture the essence of the Tarja era songs without copying them sound by sound.
