Thank you so much for reacting to At the Mountains of Madness!! This song ends their 1992 album Ougon no Yoake and it's my favorite Ningen Isu song alongside Shinagawa Shinjuu [eng. Love Suicide at Shinagawa]. Again, it's directly inspired by Lovecrafts tale of the same name. This was the last album with Noriyoshi Kamidate, their first drummer. Short correction though, their name 'Ningen Isu' which translates to Human Chair comes from a Edogawa Rampo short story. I love how they create the atmosphere for The mountain of madness here, this is like the perfect soundtrack to the story! The theremin sounds so awesome and well played and I always find it so cool how the howling sound of the theremin goes straight into the similar howling sound of Shinji Wajima's guitar. I really like Ken-ichi's vocals and those duel vocals in the middle. And the solo! 😁 I had the chance to see them live in Berlin this year [ the second one-day trip to Germany in one month - I saw Dir en grey in February there, too. I am so glad I have the best Dad in the world and we got to see both bands before the world fell into madness ^^'] and they were awesome! The most fun and down to earth guys~ There are a couple of full shows on KZbin. If you ever get the time you should check one out they do so much stuff on stage! It's a joy to watch and listen. I am really glad you liked it

Yes finally more Ningen Isu! Please do more soon good sir I always love your reactions, "The Caterpillar" will blow your mind! You know that moment you have sometimes where you close your eyes and picture the story of the sound in your mind? Well "The Caterpillar" is basically that for ~9 minutes, so enjoy! Other personal favorites are Screw Attack and Submerged City, feel free to use my public playlist to find the songs.

I enjoy the way the music flows seamlessly from theremin lead to guitar lead and back. That is very well done, and it's far from the only thing. This is a pretty amazing song overall.

Nice reaction. You can tell that you love their music just by looking at your facial expressions without speaking anything. I love Terumin's strange and terrifying sound, Suzuki's hellish cry. Wajima is remodeling the pedal kit in search of a strange and frightening sound.

Good reaction! I am glad that someone (you) finally picked up this song to react to. This is my favorite song by Ningen Isu as well. I have been suggesting this progy & bluesy music to others to listen to for a long time. This shows their progressive rock/metal roots in their early years when they had more hair on them. Here is a good example: Ningen Isu's King Crimson cover "21st Century Schizoid Man" which also dealt with the theme of MADNESS. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJLUZ5mYjr6tjqs Amazing even then.

"At The Mountains Of Madness" is a great song selection. Next time, please select "Dodarebachi". The lyrics of this song are written in the dialect of their hometown of Aomori prefecture, and even Japanese people don't really understand the meaning of the lyrics. However, the sound of the song is wonderfully groovy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3iZlZmZga54r68

I'll get it eventually. Someone had commented before that I was still supposed to pronounce the "u" so I keep trying different pronounciations.
