This is my favourite Skid Row song. Incredible vocals. I remember almost shredding my throat trying to hit those notes in my teens. Never quite managed it LOL In A Darkened Room is another stunner.

I am so glad you liked it. You definitely have the right idea. It’s just about keeping your beliefs during good times and bad times. It’s so easy to not be spiritual when things are going really good and then when they go bad you start relying on whatever god you pray to to get you out of it. It’s kind of saying that whatever it is you believe in, you should probably put in 100% all the time.

This song is a powerful masterpiece and i die when he sings every time too. His vocals speak to my very soul. He is 55 now and his voice has changed quite a bit but he's still out there rocking and rolling. You should checj out some of his early live performances with skid row. The energy and passion is out of this world! Love Baz!!! He will always be a vocal hero to me. ❣️

With every Skid Row song you hear, you feel exactly like I did. The sound is incredible, the lyrics very good, but the vocals are out of this world. Sebastian is great throughout his career (listen to Angel Down when you can), but on Slave to the Grind he was a force of nature.

Hi Sarah. Sorry to hear you're having another bad day (I know it's an understatement but I dont know what else to say) and can only listening to this absolute masterpiece helped. The way you felt by the end of the song is pretty much how I feel every time I listen to it - which is often. Bas is phenomenal and the harmonizing of his tone and the tone of Scotti Hill's guitar is magnificent. To be honest this song is one where I run out of superlatives. To be honest Sarah, I really hope you just continue on and listen to all of Skid Row's songs, especially off the first two albums (the 3rd is kinda iffy for me) as they will all prove essential to your life! Skid row slave to the grind is like my ultimate favorite cd by them. I just wish that Sebastian Bach would go back to skid row but I don't think that's ever going to happen. Anyway another great video reaction here. 👍👍👍👍👍

We will be doing that album soon. I agree as well but it seems Baz is doing well on his own. though I'd LOVE to see them, ALL. But if I had to choose between the two it'd be Baz.

Sebastian Bach is good friends with Axl Rose. I see your GNR poster back there. You should react to them doing a song together. They toured together in the early 90s. Sebastian used to join Guns for My Michelle and You're Crazy. There's lots of footage of them singing those songs together. GNR, Skids and Metallica did a few shows together, but there's one they did for RIP magazine that is on KZbin. The quality is absolute shit but you could watch Axl sing the Skids song Piece of Me and a Nazareth song Hair of the Dog. Sebastian sings For Whom the Bell Tolls and You're Crazy. Duff and Slash and Lars are the band. They tried to do Whiplash, but they fucked it up. Kirk and James join them to try again, but it's still pretty awful. Later on, Sebastian sang back up on Chinese Democracy, and Axl guested on Sebastian's solo album Angel Down for three tunes. Check 'em out. If you like Kiss, there's also a killer video of The Skids and Pantera and Ace Frehley doing Cold Gin.

2nd favorite song of all time behind "Estranged" by Guns N' Roses. Sebastian gives his best performance on this one. Only man with more range is Milijenko from Steelheart. Check "I’ll Never Let You Go" by them, and you’ll see real shock. Definitely not human. As for this song, I always assumed it was about not believing in a higher power until disaster strikes. Great reactions, by the way. You’re one of my faves because you get so lost in the music like me and have a deep appreciation. You’re a keeper! ;)
