You were pretty spot on Sarah about the meaning behind Wasted Time, Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach wrote the lyrics to this song about his friend Steven Adler, who was the original drummer for Guns N' Roses. Adler had a severe heroin addiction that affected his performance, and the band fired him in 1990. You were correct about In a Darkened Room, it is about child molestation.

Its about his best friend Steven Adler of the original Guns N Roses and how Coke took his life over , Steven Adler was one of the five originsl members of GNR and wrote a lot of the original Appetite For Distruction songs including Mr Brown Stone and Nitetrain , AXL Rose threw him out in 1990 for drug use wich was a shit call as they all did drugs , Stevn Adler is always a part of GNR history , and the only real Guns N Roses is Slash, Axl, Duff, Izzy and Steven Adler , thats real Guns N Roses !

I think you'd also love Mike Patton from Faith No More. He's got that same kind of huge range and is quite a virtuoso. Also, I have no idea how old you are, but you sure as hell remind me of me and my friends listening to this stuff in middle school/high school in the early 90s. ;) I can't understand a lot of the youths' slang these days, but you seem of an older generation. Yeah get both of those albums. He wrote this song about Steven Adler, who was the drummer for Guns-N-Roses, who was very badly addicted to herion and just couldn't get him to stop, which is why he was fired from the band.

Spot on with both song meanings. Wasted Time is about Steven Adler (the original Guns N Roses drummer) and his drug addiction. In A Darkened Room is, sadly, about child abuse. As at least one other person mentioned, please check out Quicksand Jesus next. I won't give away the song meaning but these three songs really show a growth and maturity with the band's song writing. I also recommend Breakin' Down off their third album.
