REACTION - Sleep Token TAKE ME BACK TO EDEN

Today we look at Sleep Token, During my Reaction this band ‪@Sleep-Token‬ easily became one of my favorite bands, i hope you enjoy.

I've seen them live (in Dallas! they've hit Austin as well) and they're as good if not better live. They add some extras that I wish were on the record. It's worth looking for a well-shot live video (there are no proshot videos) to get a taste of what it's like. This song is basically like the finale of this record, which is the third in a trilogy. If you listen to the first song on this album (Chokehold) the branches in a flood part might make more sense. They're very into puzzles and thematic cycles but unfortunately don't do a lot of actual music videos since they're anonymous. My top picks for this album are Ascensionism, The Apparition and Aqua Regia. There really isn't a bad song on the album, honestly, and works best as a whole.

I saw them live in May. The concert was so good that it was surreal and I feel like it didn't even happen. During "Rain" it actually was raining and it was magical. Vore is one of my favorite songs but they didn't perform it sadly. There's a live video from FirstRowConcerts of Vore and It's AMAZING. Vessel's voice is even better live. Vore is a very heavy song. You should also check out Ascensionism, The Summoning, Rain....actually every song on the Take me Back to Eden album. By the end, you'll be a hardcore fan and then you will be ready to start at album "One" and go forward. They don't have a single bad song. The last 3 albums are one concept trilogy but you can see the story beginning before that. Welcome to the Sleep Token journey. It's amazing. ❤

They are one of those bands that are better live. Vessel, the lead singer does great vocal runs and hits higher notes live.

For all the reasons you liked them in this video, you would like most of their discography. This band is the best example of "expect the Unexpected". And yes, his voice is just as good live seeing them was CATHARTIC best concert of my life! If you do listen to more, there are alot of references to previous works woven into their newer songs so that may be why it was confusing. While their latest album is their best produced album, in my opinion, their early stuff is just as good. Great reaction!! 😁

I watched another reaction to this song the other day and they wondered if the objects in the background were representative of the twin towers. Even for us brits things changed after 9/11. The world was certainly more innocent before. The statue is a mix of an angel and death, the towers seem to fill up with blood, "take me back to Eden"... take me back to innocence? They employ so much symbolism and interpretation that every song could have multiple meanings and yet somehow you simultaneously feel an instant connection to each one. I am 43 and have not felt this way about a band since I was 14 and discovered U2 going through their zootv/zooropa phase. Discovered them when they only had the one album out and have been obsessed ever since. saw them live just before this album dropped and they became massive, indeed, that gig was the world premiere of Granite and aqua regia. I am seeing them again in November and since that last gig I have gotten my entire family into them and it will be my 9 year old daughters first concert!

Listen to everything they have done. Start at EP One, EP Two, the singles, Sundowing, This place will become your tomb, Take Me Back to Eden. In that order. Its a whole story and it is so beautiful!

Yes his vocals are that good. Next to Slipknot, best show I have ever seen. Especially now that they headline, you get the all the most important parts of the whole trilogy. Awesome reaction Brother!

Start with Chokehold from this album and go through the entire thing song by song. Then go back and listen to their early stuff. Their albums are a trilogy, one basic concept through all of their work to date. Save Euclid for VERY LAST! It's the culmination of the trilogy and has several call backs to earlier songs that will make sense if you listen tthe other stuff first. One way i classify ST is Ambient Metal 😊. I don't know if it has been said but that last bit where it says it "when we were made it was no accident" is the beginning lyrics off the very first song on this album. When you listen to them more you will notice most songs will share lyrics with other songs even on other albums. ❤ great reaction

I call Sleep Token metal fusion. Their shows sell out in minutes, you're gonna have to act fast if you want to see them live. Thankfully there are some really high quality KZbin vids of their shows for the rest of us 😅

Nice reaction! This band is phenomenal. I saw them live in May and it was incredible. Their music takes you through pain, insecurity, longing, anger, desire, heartache and hope. Someone said they share feelings you’ve always had but couldn’t put into words. As others have said it’s worth it to listen to their discography in order but that would be a lot of reactions! But I am here for it if you do! Maybe listen to them in order but only officially react to certain ones. The whole album is excellent (all 3 are actually). Start with the beginning of this album on Chokehold. This song references that one and then maybe work your way through the album in order. You won’t regret it!

If you want to do a deep dive, start with the first ep. One. Then Two (the second ep). There are a few covers and single songs, then the three albums, which is a trilogy - Sundowning, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, and Take Me Back To Eden. If you do start from the beginning, the lore of the band will make more sense. Worship!
