You should watch The Lamb's first two fights, which happened on the same day, minutes apart from each other. The dude is just insanely lucky, creative, and just oblivious to danger, no matter how bad in a position he's in. Fight teaaam! 👊🏼.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my experience of doing Karate in Okinawa. So far, I haven't beaten a single American in Karate-jiu-jitsu or MMA fights. It seems like Americans are just too good at wrestling. Even if I manage to get back up, I always end up being taken down and worked again. That being said, I truly believe that wrestling and Karate complement each other really well. I recently learned that the foundation of Okinawan martial arts and the birthplace of Karate is actually Okinawan Wrestling - Tegumi. It's fascinating to see how the roots of Karate are intertwined with wrestling. What do you guys think?

Unrelated, but I’d be really interested to see a video on your take of index & middle knuckle punches vs middle, ring, pinky knuckle punches. Frankly they both seem viable assuming you have hand conditioning, but the boxers fracture makes me somewhat concerned about lower 3 knuckle punches as compared to hitting with the two thicker bones that can also benefit from the compressive support of the thumb. But I’ve seen a solid number of martial arts that advocate for it. Perhaps the hand shape of the puncher matters a lot, but is generally overlooked? Either way, its a really interesting discussion and I’m constantly seeing new nuances added whenever it’s discussed

It's to do with fist alignment. With a horizontal fist the first two knuckles make an anatomically strong structure. With a vertical fist it's the lower three. Theres a lot more nuance obviously, but that's the core of it.

Monday December 11th 2023, 0401hrs I'll tell you what's wrong with the Americana (aka TOP WRISTLOCK IN CATCHWRESTLING)... and this is a scary coincidence because I just relearned this submission from my BJJ class literally about 9 hours ago... The top guy still has his arm looped around the guy's head. He needs to UNLOOP his (right) arm from around the guy's head and frame his right elbow against his opponent's head. That will get the submission. When you couple that with proper top mount pressure by driving your right hip down into his opponent's left side, you automatically magnify your force output and minimize your effort to execute the submission. Like I said...scary coincidence that I just relearned The Americana aka TOP WRISTLOCK just 9 hours earlier.
@adrianojordao4634

With the americana it was a tecnique problem: notice the elbow of the "striker" is in the inside position, and the atacker elbow was in the outside. There is no leverage in the sholder that way, you can go with "striker elbow" until it tuches the ground no prob. For example, if i am suffering a correct "americana" on the right arm, from the top, 1 "hell mary" excape will be put your left and under right armpit of oponent and do a explosive heap bump and at the same time you push with the left and pull the atacked elbow inside. The result is what we see in this video with the elbow i side. Dificult position, but no need to tap just yet. About the "submission"... what to say there was nothing there just disconfort.

From the Americana he should of transitioned to a bicep slicer such as a short arm scissor instead of an cross arm bar which is a technique not taught in American Folkstyle Wrestling. He could have also transitioned to a Bundle or Ezekiel or can-opener or a Nelson then sitout so chest up to cause a neck crank or make a fist in the throat to do a chokehold.

All American usually means the top 8 of there weight class, but it was also a (now renamed) pro-wrestling promotion. So maybe he was part of that. The full list of NCAA All American wrestlers is public info, but it doesn't have pictures and I doubt Scout is his real name. So it would take more work than I feel like putting in to try to find him.

Great respect for anyone who steps up to competition. Lamb's low/no-guard made me think of Ali, though he didn't so much rope a dope as he did tap a chap. By the end of it, he had Scout scouted. It was nice to hear the epithet "numpty" used again. My biggest critique is the opening. Streetbeefs could get better bars delivered than that of they look around a little. FIGHT TEAM!

Umm... I would say don't watch unless you like fighting in general. It is nice to see actual people go at it. No propaganda, no Hollywood trash; just Joe[s] throwing blows. With that said, Lamb was more lucky (in this fight) than actually good. Scott is by no means "All American" unless it was in like Middle school or something, or the "All American" title was given because he's from Nebraska or Oregon or someplace. Scott learned from Hollywood. He is not an actual wrestler. He quickly gave up wrestling for BJJ and it costed him the match. A wrestler not akin to pain is equal to a boxer not akin to being punched-- it is a magical unicorn from bullshit land. Scott was not used to any type of pain. The pressure under the chin in rd 1 was a blaring sign of that. Scott had a TOP WRIST LOCK; not an "Americana", there is no such thing-- that is propaganda from BJJ-- it's a TOP WRIST LOCK. Scott didn't know much else. I would say he isn't a wrestler but a BJJ guy. He did the BJJ things and panic, and tried to force an arm bar-- like an average BJJ guy. A wrestler wouldn't have panic. A wrestler would have transferred to a top wrist series, or a short arm series, or crank series, or chain wrestled into a more painful riding position, or set up a behind the back arm lock (something he actually had before he stupidly did the BJJ thing and jumped up to the collarbone). The only dumber thing Scott could have done was headbutt the ground. Rd2 two Scott got caught in a dorsal neck crank. That's it. Nothing new, nothing awesome; average catch neck crank. Scott was allergic to pain. If this fight shows anything, it showcase not the fighters, but how BJJ maybe a cult. Scott obviously isn't a wrestler. He did BJJ things, with BJJ take-downs, with BJJ tactics, with BJJ techniques, with BJJ results. How many times must something not work before it is questioned. BJJ sucks. It just does. Get a steel chair instead and grind it out in the ring, like a real wrestler.

If that dude is an all american wrestler, then wrestling in america is dead. I think he had like a month or so of some sort of submission-wrestling/mma training. But alot of what he did also looked either self taught or poorly taught... i.e. the arm behind the head during the key lock attempt. But ya. All american? Hi bro.. I watch street beefs, I would normally, 1 on 1, go for the grappler 9/10, I fully agree with the sloppiness of the so called wrestler and I do believe he was bigged up for views. That punch was awful, I have never seen a leg take down crawling on your knees. I think we should judge the wrestler on what he really is, a very amature wrestler at best. Certainly not High level. I wouldn't be so hard on him, if he was an ordinary guy having ago, as it does take balls to enter something like this and indeed any comps. It's the fact it was sold on him being a all American wrestler.. Smh
