Yes this is the part of old John.Williams score where he left home.... i think its actually called "leaving home" in the original score. I have been very skeptical about this movie unril now... the poster and the minute excerpt of the score gives me a little hope too.....

I wish people would stop saying that this theme is a combination of Hans Zimmer and John Williams. It's not. It's all John Williams. The first part of the theme is John Williams' Smallville theme during the scenes in Kansas, and the second part is the main Superman theme.

The John Williams Superman theme is the only Superman theme to me, simply perfection. Much in the way that Star Wars music means Star Wars, John William Superman music means Superman.

Henry Cavill's turn as Superman was great. It's unfortunate that he had to step aside and let the character go but he sure did a great job. Man of Steel was a great adaptation. Loved the tone, the music and the story. I'm very excited to see what James Gunn and David Corenswet have to offer but I do love Man of Steel. Reeves of course is who I grew up watching back in the day. He'll always be number one, but Cavill is right up there with him. Now's its David's turn! Let's see what happens!

Chris Reeve is my Superman too 🙌🏼 I think David will be GREAT though 👍 I just really hope it’ll feel like SUPERMAN’s movie! Cause as we know, this one will also include other superheroes. I just don’t want them to take over anything major from Supes here. This needs to be HIS movie 🤞

Very excited about the movie. Theme is interesting, I’m not sold it’ll be really frustrating if it’s not ever given the full flourish of the Williams triumphant march (even over the end credits would be good). I actually really liked the man of steel score, worked well for those movies (which I don’t love), and also think superman and Lois’s score was great. So although I agree the Williams is the classic and the best, if you aren’t going to do it properly just do something original ! Fingers crossed it’s great.

I would have rathered they not include Williams or Zimmer because I believe that every theme belongs to each Superman, it's part of the easthetic of that particular movie. Chris Reeve said himself he was a temporary custodian of the role, and continuing to use his theme flys in the face of that idea.

It’s because of this movie. That Superman and Lois the TV series has been canceled. I have no earthly idea why they canceled series for this movie. Not only that I wish they had used Taylor as superman. Because he is the closest to Christopher Reeve as you can get without being Christopher Reeve. But no gun had to go and completely Shit on him and his show.

I’m trying to temper my excitement. It look very promising. But I’ve been so very disappointed over the years and don’t want to be let down again. Superman Returns was so close to being great but failed in key areas. The Man of Steel was just an abomination. I can’t even discuss it without getting angry.
