Glam before bowie? The Sweet began to be a Glam band with Wig Wam Bam, Bowie was glam from the beginning of 1970, when he was already friends with Bolan and recorded together. Be honest, The Sweet joined the glam trend. It was started by T. Rex, on the American side it was Alice Cooper, then in the mid '72 Roxy, Bowie, Gary and Mott appeared at the same time, and coincidentally, Slade and Sweet changed their style. Because Slade clearly didn't start out as a glam band either. The Sweet was originally a bubblegum pop band.

They were a Glitter- Rockband up untill 1974. From then they produced, wrote (best example 'Fox on the run' from 1975) everything on their own. They were really ahead of their time 🎸🎹🎺🎻🎤🎵🎶🎼!!

The Sweet are top notch. One of the first albums I bought was Desolation Boulevard and I was blown away. Their harmony is excellent. All 4 had different hair colors. A blonde, a redhead, a brunette, and the drummer's hair was black.

I'm almost 60 and crank up Sweet while driving in my luxo-spec cars all the time.....inprov produces the greatest licks....glad your enjoying them......they played for fun.....with short messages.....they were preindustrialsed music

Four really great vocalists in this band, and a killer drummer and a badass bassist. David Bowie told Steve Priest to tone down his makeup and outfits, no kidding. My favorites are No You Dont, just for the attitude of it, Blockbuster, Wig Wam Bam, Little Willy, Sweet FA (which is so protothrash), Cockroach, Love is Like Oxygen and Call Me. Check 'em out.

Is this the same band that did "BALLROOM BLITZ" ? Awesome band. Ur flower story kind of hit home. I've bought groceries for some people & never thought or worried about if, but lately there's been a lot of people in front of me at the coffee shop that pay for the car behind them "me". I became Sweet-Fan when I was 3 years old. They had just released the Single "Wig Wam Bam" and my parents bought me their singles they released after it. When I got my own money when I got to the elementary school I saved my money to be able me their albums. Sweet are still one of my favorite bands. 😊

the most underated band of all time saw Queen before they were famous though vocaly they sounded like sweet and sweet thought so to.had they played charlton rock in 1974 with the who it would have kick.started there rock carreer world wide sadly wasnt to be as what happend to brian connolly at that time and they had to cancel the uk sweet F.A tour bad luck for sweet and the single turn it down got banned as it said for gods sake.only sweet fans knew how good they were.they never toured the uk after 1974 so the so called real rock fans never heard the real sweet they never played the old grey whistle test or any festivals in the uk like reading .they should have been an arena band sadly wasnt to be

I will certainly to the first one but action I have listened to when to give my reaction for def leppards version. It isn't on camera but I listen to it to see differences and give a better review. I really liked it more than df's version.

Listening to you thru the video, yes Sweet and Queen have alot in common. Both bands have alot of singing talants in whole bands. If i listen to a song like Bohemian Rhapsodie and compare it to sweet, u see that there is similarities. both bands have a full band singing cpabilitie, meaning all in th bands can sing, even the drummers.

is my second time watching u and the reactions u make. These times wish i was 30 years younger. when i was young not many women listened to this type of rock. yes u see them in videos and shit but these are just for show, they arent really into this music. I was born in wrong age.

Obv i have all records of this band and i started to play these songs on drums when i was 16 years old, and the thing is when i hear the ending of the lies of your eyes i emidiately hear the next song cockroach, wich is soooo fucking heavy it could be played by metallica, though u didnt play it. they made some super heavy songs that made ripples thru the music into other bands. I am sorry to keep typing these ideas but i cant help myself. growing up with this and seeing what happened in music after pisses me of, coz this band should have been one of the biggest metal bands of all times.
