As a grown man who has been a fan of hers for over a decade now I am so happy to see others come out and see how incredible she actually is. I'm glad we're past that "she's just for teenage girl" mentality that was all over the place. Her music is fucking amazing and she's gonna go down in history as one of the greatest songwriters of all time and I don't have to be a teenage girl to recognize that. Junior year of high school I worked in my hometown college cafeteria - it played there CONSTANTLY but I honestly didn't mind. I'm a fan of country so ofc I'm a fan of country Taylor. Her writing style comes straight out of that genre (simple, descriptive storytelling and changing up those choruses) but I'm glad she's branched out and combined it with so many fun musical styles!

You can compare her younger voice in this song with how it sounds today. She re-recorded the entire 'Fearless' album (this song is on that album) in 2021. It's quite a story as to why she had to re-record her first 6 albums (so far, she has released 4 of the older albums). Personally, I think she sounds better now. She thought she had reached the pinnacle of her career and that she would not get any bigger. People said they didn't think she wrote her own songs because she had other songwriters write with her, so she decided to write her third album all by herself. "Speak Now", her 3rd album was entirely self-written by Taylor and released in 2010.

So Kanye saying he made her famous was completely ludicrous- she was on stage accepting a VMA award for this video and her album was about to be named Country Album of the Year at the next Grammy Awards. Kanye thought that the Beyoncé video for Single Ladies was the best video of the year- which it was, Beyoncé won the VMA for Video of the Year at the end of the VMA awards that night and brought Taylor back up on stage to give her speech. The award Taylor won was a lesser award, for Best Female Video.
