Alright, time for the full explanation of the timelines. The original, unaltered timeline (the one that would be the only timeline should Bulma have never invented a time machine) is the one that this Cell is from. We'll call this one Timeline O. This timeline is mostly identical to that of the Trunks we know (who I'll call Future Trunks). Goku killed Mecha Frieza and King Cold, later died from the Viral Heart Disease, and most of the other characters were killed by Androids #17 and #18. The Trunks of Timeline O, or O Trunks, went back to the past (creating Timeline U, see below) in order to prevent the androids from destroying the world. This plan was successful, mostly because Cell wasn't around. O Trunks then returned to Timeline O. After awaking in the future, Cell (O Cell) killed O Trunks (not the Trunks we know), and went back to the past. O Trunks, when he traveled back in time, created a new timeline, called Timeline U (for "unseen", because this particular timeline was never shown). This one is mostly similar to the timeline we're in now, except that Cell isn't doing things. In this one, O Trunks killed Mecha Frieza and King Cold, and Goku survived the Viral Heart Disease. Additionally, the other characters destroy Dr. Gero's lab, which also destroys this timeline's version of Cell (who was still in larval form), although they had no idea that he was there. As stated above, O Trunks' plan of destroying the androids in Timeline U was successful. O Trunks also got the android's blueprints, so he was able to return to Timeline O and destroy those androids. O Trunks was just about to go back to Timeline U to tell everyone the good news when Cell (our Cell, O Cell) killed him and traveled back to the past. Here's where it gets complicated. Cell traveled back several years before the original timeline split. Because of this, a secondary split was created. This made two additional timelines. The first of these additional timelines is Timeline F, or the timeline that our Future Trunks is from. It's mostly identical to Timeline O: Goku kills Frieza, later dies. Future Trunks travels back in time to warn the others about the androids and give Goku the medicine. The second is Timeline M, or the main timeline. This is the one we're watching. Up until Bulma found the old, ruined time machine from last episode, this timeline was identical to Timeline U. But now that Cell (O Cell) has entered the picture, things are going to go in a very different direction. @@reptile1677 I'll explain it. Cell's timeline is the original timeline (which I will be referring to as Timeline 1). In this timeline, Goku killed Frieza and Cold, then died from the heart virus. Trunks travelled back to the past to kill Frieza and warn Goku about the Androids, creating the unseen timeline (Timeline 2). In Timeline 2, Trunks and Bulma use the blueprints for the androids to make a remote and blow them up, which actually works since Cell is not involved in this timeline. With the androids blown up, Trunks travels back to Timeline 1 and uses the same remote to blow those androids up. However, this meant he wasn't strong enough to face Cell, who killed him and took his time machine back to a year before Frieza attacked Earth, creating the Future Trunks timeline (Timeline 3). Timeline 3 follows most of the same events as Timeline 1. When Trunks travels back into the past this time, he creates what is known as the main timeline (Timeline 4). In this timeline, the events of the Cell Saga take place. However, things change for Timeline 3 once Trunks travels back there. Instead of a remote to blow up the androids, Trunks travelled back there with a massive power boost from training for a year with Vegeta. He killed the Androids and Cell, followed by Dabura and Babidi. In Super, three more timelines were added: Timeline 5: an unseen timeline created by someone from Universe 12 travelling back in time. Timeline 6: In Timeline 4, Zamasu stole Goku's body and killed him. In Timeline 6, Beerus destroyed Zamasu and the rest of Dragon Ball Super occurs. Timeline 7: The alternate Timeline 3 that Trunks and Mai travelled back to after the Future Trunks saga.

So I think I actually understand everything here, except for one thing. Shouldn't timeline F have a grown up cell from timeline O as well since he created the split? After all his existence of going back in time created timeline F which sprouted Timeline M in which an alternate version of Cell O (we'll call him Cell O') is in existence, which makes sense, he's still germinating underground and makes his appearence. So overall what I'm saying is that Timeline F should have 2 cells. One that is germinating underground, the other one still a baby in Dr Gero's lab since they never destroyed it in that timeline. Timeline F shpuld have had perfect cell since he arrives around the same time as the android in the Timeline F/M split off. Check my math?

The reason why Cell has all of their moves is because Dr. Gero collected data from all of Goku's battles ever since he was a kid as explained a few episodes ago. When Frieza came to earth, Dr. Gero also managed to collect some of his and his father's data and added it to Cell. Basically, Cell is OP as fuck

To be more accurate he had the computer in his lab's basement send out spy robots to collect DNA from Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Freeza, and King Cold along with using the data gathered the other robots Gero had already sent out to study his various fights as you mentioned. When I was watching DragonBall Z's intro "Rock the Dragon" as a kid, it showed Super Sayian Goku, Super Sayian Vegeta and Super Sayian Trunks as well as Vegeta and Trunks standing alongside Goku with Krillin, Piccolo and the others. This was the intro they played from episode 1 of DBZ all the way up to Goku vs Jeice and Burter on Namek. I think looking intro teases will be ok as long as they don't think about it too hard... and as long as people in the comment section don't bring too much attention to them.

Info and stuff... I'm guessing you're a bit confused about the whole timeline thing. Cell is from the future, and he came from a different timeline. In that timeline he killed Trunks and took his time machine. That's why they found another of Trunks time machine. Hope that explained it a little bit better, but I believe they go into greater detail later. Oh,and also: Cell is voiced by Takahata101. Y'know, Nappa, Super Kami Guru and Alucard. :D

Just to clear this up (sorry if it was already posted) Cell has all the other fighters powers and energy because he was made by collecting DNA samples from all of them via the little spy bug bot that Gero mentioned back in episode 35 and not because he killed them all in his timeline. They actually explain it in the actual series a lot better then in this series.
