Aquarius/Let the Sunshine was a massive hit for the 5th Dimension in the Spring of 1969. Earning the band the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance for 1969. I.I have had a 50+ year crush on Florence LaRue. She is still performing, and I still have crush on her. Great reaction Cynthia. RNB

The musical Hair spawned hits for many artists. "Aquarius" is the opening song for the musical and "Flesh Failures/Let The Sunshine In" its closing song. American singer songwriter Oliver had a huge hit with "Good Morning Starshine" which is the party scene in the musical. Three Dog Night did "Easy To Be Hard", Cowsills did "Hair". The musical itself was a worldwide smash, versions of the musicals were done and also recorded the lyrics written for the native tongue. Also nationally known artists got hits from versions on Hair's songs, sung in their own language. I was almost a toddler back in 1969 but saw a version in the 2000's. The themes the musical has are still relevant all though the original was on the backround of the Hippie movement and Vietnam war. There is a movie version done which has a twist of its own in the end compared to the stage version. I believe there are versions to be found in tube if you want to take a look at it.
