Bill Ward is the heaviest jazz drummer of all time! In this he uses the thick ends of the sticks for extra power.

Tony has always been a left-handed guitar player. The tips of two of his fretting fingers were chopped off in a sheet metal factory accident. He had to make prosthetic tips in order to play. He didn't switch to playing left-handed. As a matter of fact, in some interviews he says he tried to play right-handed but couldn't do it. Also because there were no light-gauge strings at that time, he had to use banjo strings until a company called Piccato started making light-gauge strings for him.

Tony came across another guitar player (right handed) with the same guitar, but left handed. They swapped guitars so they could both use them right side up.

The very early un-released version of War Pigs was called Walpurgis (See John Peel Sessions on YT). Ozzy is singing both the final War Pigs and Walpurgis lyrics here. Why? Who knows. The Paranoid album was released in Sept 1970, this show is from December 1970.

It might have already been mentioned but this performance was done before the Paranoid album was recorded and they did change the lyrics a bit for the final version (Ozzy didn't mess up!) and y'all know Tony had his finger tips cut off at a work accident, his boss gave him a Django Reinhardt record to listen to, but Tony reluctantly said OK I'll listen to it (Django also had missing fingers) and he persevered, wonder if he couldve switched to playing as a righty?

All elements of heavy metal is present in Sabbaths songs. The heaviness, the riffing, the bombastic loudness and the bleak lyricism from Geezer. Rooted in blues at the beginning, but carving out their own niche as they progressed. It's obvious that they sat the stage for what to come. If you've experienced one of their later reuninion shows, you wouldn't question them being heavy metal. Because with newer equipment they are as heavy as any other band in the genre, without changing anything in their original song structures.

I have always loved this song but never realized how old it is.I was about a year old give or take a month or 2 depending on the month this was filmed

Oct 3rd 1970 Theater 140 Pop Shop Brussels Belgium. Bootleg recording list Paris France which is incorrect they only did that to sell more Bootleg copies.

Surprised the Paris Police didn't arrest Bill Ward for Assault on those Drums. And why did the Director all but ignore Bassist Geezer Butler? What's up with that? Tony and Ozzy were just doing their thing, at top volume and with top quality performing.

Our Tone has always been a lefty. He did use thinner strings by dropping each down one and using a banjo string for top E. He doesn't tune down until their third album and then not on all songs. He does come up out of the depths of C sharp after a few albums but seems to play live in E flat for his career after 1980.
