I think Rosé's covers are more ballad focused because although she's a performer, a dancer and an idol, above all that she is a vocalist and she picks songs that are vocally driven. Her cover of Halsey's 'Eyes Closed' is short but stunningly beautiful. As for 'You & I' I really think Coach would appreciate Park Bom's voice. There are a number of reasons why critics compared Blackpink to their predecessors 2NE1 and the uniqueness of lead vocal is one of them. If you do react to 2NE1 maybe 'I Love You' is a good choice because it has the vocals and is a bit more lively than 'You & I'

Blackpink were the first group to get me into Kpop and I can say this now when i first heard them and also saw them on screen Rose’ caught my attention first and immediately become my bias. Don't worry Mr Coach.. You're not the only one crying. Every time I hear and watch this video as soon as she opens her mouth I cry. I have this audio downloaded on my phone.. By the way, I have all her covers on my phone. Her voice gives me comfort and peace. I feel lost and found at the same time, her voice protects me and makes me vulnerable at the same time. I don't know how to explain it. I even have an audio of her, telling a bedtime story that I put in when I'm anxious or going through a difficult time. For example, on her birthday, I had surgery. And what calmed me down was her voice. To me she's an angel on earth ❤️ You can say whatever you want, whatever has to happen, but to me she is the most perfect and angelic person this world has ever seen. ❤️❤️❤️

The first song sounds nothing like the original song. She made the cover her own lol. You and i was sang by park bom previous girl group was yg. 2ne1. The last song : Only look at me by taeyang. Member of big bang of yg entertainment. The biggest male group like 7-9 years ago. Those songs are a bit up beat but rose made it into a ballad and into her style. The last two songs are legendary kpop songs

I totally understand your dislike for ballads. I still struggle even attempting to listen to them & that partly stems from my mom having a massive ballad playlist that I had to grow up listening to. I feel that many ballads have similar chord progressions that make you feel a certain way & I'm never in the mood to listen to them. HOWEVER, Rose definitely is a special case. I love all these versions but I wish she had done full versions of the first two. You really should check out the original version of You and I by Park Bom of 2NE1- she is another unique voice (and in my opinion an even better singer than Rosé). The original is more of a pop song than a straight ballad and it was an iconic KPop hit back in 2010- there’s also a really good live version with a choir in the show Queendom which has a great arrangement. If Rosé can bring a tear to your eye, then Bom will have them streaming down your face, such is the emotion she can bring to a song. This is to take nothing away from Rosé, but Bom is Rosé’s idol and whenever she is given an opportunity to sing a song on tv of her own choice, she will immediately go for You and I.

The same way that Mamamoo Wheein is MADE of Art, Rose' is just MADE of Music; I keep telling people that. As far as Writing, Composing, Arranging, Conducting, Producing, she is absolutely top-notch, World-Class. It would not surprise me at all if Rose' would go make a company of her own (like Jennie and Lisa each recently have), so that she gets the opportunity to do all of that for herself. That way, HER OWN ideas will get put to paper and brought to life the way SHE wants them to be. YG has sucked for a long time and BLACKPINK has carried them for a little bit. Time for all the ladies to move on. I guess there would be less creative struggle with Jisoo going into acting but the other three really needed to be able to spread their wings and get out from under YG's oppressive thumbs.

When I started listening the vocal side of BP definitely pulled me in more and I always liked it when they let Jisoo stay in her lower register contrasted with Rosie going high. There’s only one singer I can think of that also has an ethereal breathy tone that’s somewhat similar to Rose’ and that is Swan the main vocalist of Purple Kiss (Mamamoo’s little sister group). It’s not the same, but she’s well regarded for her distinctive tone. I can see how you really don't like ballads. It's not your thing, but you love rose' so you can watch and listen, but your preference is seeing her in regular black pink music.
