When BabyMetal first started touring overseas as young teenagers . BMTH befriended them as they were young teens in a environment dominated by male artists. They where like big brothers to them . Over the years they become friends . Then BabyMetal invited BMTH to open in the Japan part of world tour . As Oli said they where the biggest shows and because of BabyMetals respect for them, they blew up in Japan getting really popular. As a thank you and celebration of this friendship, they wrote this collaboration and during lockdown sent each others parts . At first, BabyMetal did it all in English, but Oli asked them to do some in Japanese. They never got together until BMTH nexfest in Japan, and this is the result well worth the 2 year wait 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼ps Su's always brings a tear to my eye when she let loose with her vocals 😭

Thanks from the country you are residing 有難う💛。They performed "REAL" Kingslayer (BMTH+BM on stage together) 4 times in Japan last year as a special rendition in the festival curated and hosted by BMTH. I witnessed the 2nd REAL one in Nagoya on Nov.1. That was mesmerizing 😍 and I forgot to breathe during the performance. In an interview Momometal made an interesting comment like : (1) The theme of this choreo is "collision of souls" that has an image like we throw the power multiplied by the two bands at the audience. (2) We danced with our fullest power and solid determination : "We do not care no matter what happens to us after the performance" I saw the girls literally do it. (BABYMETAL did this performance after their own strenuous one-hour show in the festival.) The one thing worried me was the statement at the end of this song in the final show in Tokyo on Nov.4. After joyful hugs with the girls, Oli said "We are never gonna play Kingslayer without them, ever again. Just not right." But I found that there was no need to worry. In 2024 BMTH started to use 3 CG figures resembling the girls on the backdrop. And the two groups performed this song together again in Las Vegas on April 27.

Welcome back JohnnyMetal. You would have love to go to this festival, the last one was at Makuhari Messe, the same venue you saw DDM with Metalverse. If only you would have meet BM back in 2022 you could have the chance to see them in Japan in all the recent live shows in 2023 coming back with the best live shows after the hiatus. This was the best 2020 collab between these two great bands and we finally got this collab on the stage together after so much time waiting for it. BMTH performed at Southside Festival in Germany and Hellfest Festival, there's a nice proshot version but with only BabyMetal backing track vocals, luckily now we got this amazing clip showing them sharing the same stage at Makuhari Messe during a festival called "NEX_FEST" ending October and starting November last year, and they did it not only once but four times in a row (thou the first one was at Kobe and the second was at Nagoya, MoaMetal birthplace), everyone went bonkers with these, you can also find fancams of each night showing some different interactions at the end between Oli and the girls, SuMetal thanked to BMTH in all of them, that's the only thing i can complain about this clip but it's cool anyway. BMTH couldn't have better collab on their latest album Post Human Survival Horror, there are some others really good songs there thou but this one is just on another level. My suggestions are: "Parasite Eve" and "Teardrops", also "Ludens" from Death Stranding OST videogame. This song was produced by Mick Gordon, the same behind videogames like Doom, Wolfenstein and Prey, so you can feel the vibes here. They're friends since 2015 when met each other at Kerrang Awards so the collab was almost naturally unavoidable. They even performed as a support band for BabyMetal and Oli praise the Fox God too (atheist, dame, zettai)🦊🤘 The drum&bass instrumental intro on this song is called "Itch For The Cure" which is clearly a tribute to Linkin Park song "Cure For The Itch", but the short animation and dialogue wasn't part of the album track, it's a reference to Metal Gear Solid videogame created by Hideo Kojima, they got another MGS tribute song called "Shadow Moses" and later in 2019 they were part of Death Stranding OST, another Hideo Kojima game. Also you can find a short documentary about the making of this song where Oli said interesting things about the method they worked with the BM team and giving multiple choice of doing this. Next suggestion to enjoy another new collab they did recently: - F.Hero x Bodyslam x BabyMetal - Leave It All Behind official MV. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🤘🔥

Babymetal always has some of their crew running around with mobile phones taking some pictures. And occasionally the girls grab the phone and film themselves on the stage. It amazes me how much fun they have on stage even after this long world tour where they did five shows a week for months, doing festivals in between and afterwards, recording new songs and videos. I hope they take a well deserved break after this year's festivals.

My favourite collab as well, BM and BMTH have been friends since 2015, BM asked BMTH to tour in Japan with them and they couldn't believe how big the venues BM were playing, Oli then asked them if they would do it and they said yes, when Oli asked them to write the Japanese verse he explained his idea behind the song and in a week he had 4 options back all with translations just ready for him to pick, he said BM are the hardest working band playing today. Loved this reaction as well. 🤘🤘🤘🦊🦊🦊

Great reaction - and Oil Sykes agreed with you about Su singing at least some of it in Japanese would be much more cool.😎 emb5091 and MartinMetal already explained how BMTH and BABYMETAL met in 2015, Oli taking them under his wing, and their long friendship etc. They had often spoken of wanting to collaborate and after BABYMETAL invited BMTH to tour with them in Japan in 2019 it was only right Oli should ask them to collaborate on this song. It was worth the 3 year wait between the song being recorded and released and when they were finally able to get together (around the start of November last year) to perform it live.🤘

I just realised today that I thought your channel had been around for months, yet it has only been 3 weeks. You are doing something very right here.👍 Japanese is very cool to hear. It's a beautiful-sounding language in spoken form, especially the polite form. When used in a song, it can be cool, beautiful, fierce or cute. Its more condensed syllable system (mora) lends itself to stacatto notes and rhythm. BxMxC is a perfect example of this, and I can't wait for your BxMxC reaction. Su's voice is mesmerising and expressive enough for people not to need to know what she's saying to still get it. She has brought tears to my eyes on more than a few occasions (even on the studio tracks) and every time she was singing in Japanese and before i had seen a translation. I bet every long-term fan has had the realisation that they had completely forgotten that Babymetal primarily sing in Japanese and only remember about it when a new reactor mentions it. I guess good music is a language in iteslf.

BMTH & BabyMetal have been friends for a long time and this track was originally on a BMTH album from a few years ago but nobody thought they'd ever do it live. My understanding is that BabyMetal appearing at the concert was a complete surprise, the first time at least, which is why the audience went bonkers when they walked out. Favourite moments the choreography, particularly the wide legged stomping and spinning round on 1 foot which must be difficult and the fact they all looked to be having a great time. Moa leaning into the camera with a huge grin towards the end was priceless. Missed opportunity for Ollie to say Foxhole rather than Rabbithole but never mind 🦊 More than 6 months on and this still gives me full body chills.

I am totally with you on getting emotional listening to BM. I even get emotional sometimes when they sing their piece in RATATATA! How does that happen? When I had been suffering from the passing our our beloved dog, I encountered BM by chance and they fixed my pet-loss in one night! The song that cured me was "Akatsuki" (2014, Live at Budokan Black Night). The lyrics and how it is sung by Su still bring tears to my eyes - not because it is making me sad, but because BM (or Su) conveys to me that the love I have for my dog should be cherished until the day I cease to exist. So now, I only have fond memories and gratitude for my dog for having made my life so rich. Thank you doggie and thank you BM. 🦊 and oh... Great reaction! BMTH and BABYMETAL first met in 2015 and kept in touch. From my understanding BMTH, especially Ollie, befriended them because they were very young teen girls performing at the big metal festivals, which must have been intimidating. Then in 2019, BABYMETAL asked BMTH to open for them for the final leg of their world tour ending in Japan. Then when "Kingslayer" was released in 2020, Ollie made a mini doc video explaining that when they opened for BABYMETAL in front of 20,000 people, it was a huge crowd for them and it helped their fanbase in Japan grow, so he wanted BABYMETAL to be on one of their songs to show his appreciation. He mentions that BABYMETAL's people originally submitted all English lyrics, but Ollie said he wanted them to sing in Japanese. Then in 2023 they FINALLY got to perform Kingslayer live together! There is an old photo online of Ollie surprising the very young girls by wearing a BABYMETAL t-shirt with the sleeves torn off (I believe he performed his set wearing it too). The looks on the girls faces is priceless!🤘🦊🤘

Great reaction! BMTH is great. They’ve been friends with Babymetal since ~2015. Olie took them under his wings early on as Babymetal was a young female group in an adult male dominated scene, and they were new to touring, metal festivals, etc. at that time. They’ve supported one another over the years at shows and festivals. Olie reached out during COVID 2020 to do a collab to commemorate their friendship. Babymetal originally did their part in English, and it was Olie who requested them to do some of it in Japanese. This show was BMTH’s NEX_FEST from Nov 2023, and the first time this song was played live with both bands! Naturally, everyone lost their sh*t 😂. 🤘🦊

I actually prefer @Omajination's compilation vid she made of this. They played at 4 concerts, and they interacted with BM after each song. This official video doesn't show any of that, but Omajination's does. Her vid also lets you clearly see the girls dancing. I personally don't like the frenetic editing of the official video.

Do yourself a favor and find a fancam that focuses on the choreo. It is really pretty great and really aggressive by Babymetal standards.

Great reaction Johnny! Don’t worry about getting emotional it happens a lot when listening to Babymetal :). For me this is the best collab they’ve done, even tho LIAB and Ratatata aren’t far behind. Babymetal first submitted all their lines in English but BMTH asked for some Japanese and the result is phenomenal. They are friends since 2015 or so when they first met at a festival and BMTH kinda took care of them a bit, since the metal festival scene is largely dominated by male artists and the girls were still teenagers. Babymetal then invited BMTH to open for them at their Japan shows in 2019 (I believe). When BMTH announced their own festival in Japan (Nex_Fest), they of course, invited Babymetal to it. Babymetal performed their own set but joined BMTH during their set to perform Kingslayer with them. And dang, it is a fantastic! Oli even said that they would never perform Kingslayer ever again without Babymetal :) but we’ll see about that lol.
