Born May 1994, Dimash is from Kazakhstan in Central Asia and has the most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard in my life! He’s been studying music since the age of 5 (he’s about to receive his Doctorate in musicology this year) and comes from a musical family (parents and siblings all sing and play instruments). He’s sung in about 15 different languages so far (this performance is in French - which he doesn’t speak), performs in many genres, composes, plays various instruments, acts, models etc. He’s also passionate about promoting his beautiful Kazakh culture to the world....

Another very enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. As you might already know, this performance was from a 90-minute digital show/concert streamed on Jan 31, 2021. According to Dimash’s website, an international team of 140 of the world's top talents in the industry worked on organizing and producing the online concert, integrating modern television and virtual technologies. The result was awe-inspiring. This wasn't a live online concert in the true sense of the word, but rather a sequence of performances with visual effects recorded over the space of a day and night.

I like your reaction to this one.....again, you're right on point..! This was the first song I heard when I found Dimash, but it was the version he did as a younger man in 2017 at the Singer contest in China. There are many great singers/performers worldwide these days, but I really do believe this young man is by far the most talented. Have to say that he has surpassed all the greats I've admired over the years. I'm an 83 year old guy, and I've "Been-Around-The-Block-A-Few-Times." I'm sure about this young man....!

Dimash Qudaibergen (di-MOSH Koo-dye-BEHR-gen) is a talented artist from Kazakhstan who began his formal training at the age of 5. He is professionally trained in opera, contemporary music, and musical theater. His diverse discography includes genres such as pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo-classical, opera, and even rap and hip-hop with a vocal range of 7+ octaves: C1-D8(which doesn't exist on a standard 88-key piano). Qudaibergen has performed songs in 15 languages and is fluent in Russian and Kazakh while also possessing some proficiency in English and Chinese. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, director, and actor, he owns a production company called Dimashali Creative Center. Well Heather, I use reviews of this song by Dimash as a guide for new reviewers. You did well. In the elite singing community, he is considered to be one of the best, if not the best singer in the world... He keeps getting better. Reviewing his childhood, you will find that both he and his sister were given professional training since early childhood. I think he speaks about 9 or 11 different languages and plays maybe as many instruments. You did well. Didn't over-react, which I don't like but reacted perfectly for a first time review.
