I think he rocked everything he wore at the different stages of his life! From the sparkly gold jacket in the 50’s to the black leather in 68 to the Aloha jumpsuit when he was more mature and older… all gorgeous. Even his casual clothes, patterned shirts and wearing a jacket without a shirt 💥🥵💥 stunning on every occasion!! ❤️

No question about it ... the black leather is the look I love ! His musical arrangements were tirelessly rehearsed until they sounded just like he heard them in his head but most everything else was spontaneous ... that's what made him so uniquely comfortable on stage ! There will never be another entertainer like him ... TCB forever !!

The black leather look was amazing. I liked his jumpsuits on stage in Vegas too because it’s easy to see him on stage. I believe that’s why he wore them. As many have said, there is no way to really describe this man’s looks , voice or charisma that could give him justice. It’s like he was made by the angels themselves and then sent to earth. He was more than a superstar, he really was a mega star and sent rock & roll into the stratosphere . He was known all over the world as just ELVIS with no need to add Presley.

About this segment of the show, the director was in the control room one day after rehearsals, putting things away and getting ready for the next days rehearsals when he heard music coming from back stage. He went to investigate and found several of the band members in Elvis' room having a "jam session". Elvis had his acoustic guitar and everyone else was banging on anything they could find in order to play along with him. Well, IT SOUNDED DAMN GOOD! He approached Elvis about doing a "jam session" as part of the show, no rehearsal for it, no instruments other than what they were playing here. He said that he would get his original bandmates together, Scotty Moore on guitar and the drummer, I think his name was Fontaine. So, what we were blessed with was a completely un-scripted, unrehearsed jam session which was something that Elvis loved to do anyway! Elvis was a little apprehensive because it had been so long since he performed infant of people that he wouldn't remember any of the songs from way back, so the director wrote down a list of Elvis' old songs that Elvis could choose from on stage. Scotty Moore said that he came straight from the airport to the studio and had no idea what to expect. It was a real treat because we got to see Elvis' personality and how he interacted with his friends and band mates.

I loved this look, 1970 Vegas and 1973 Aloha. He was incredible to look at. He rehearsed tirelessly however he was very spontaneous on stage and did what he felt in the moment. A song could have been rehearsed 100 times but if he wasn't feeling it he wouldn't do it or end it abruptly. He changed song lyrics, talked to the crowd, played with the band members and that was just who he naturally was. Vicki

Elvis was important in the overall development of Rock and Roll. In the 50s he brought R&B music to the masses and helped pave the way for other acts to follow. Then he made a bunch of movies that weren't necessarily too good. Then the Comeback Special, Awesome! Then the Vegas Era was interesting to say the least. This guy is one if the most important people in history!

A person usually has a particular time period they prefer, like with anything else. But with Elvis it's a bit different. Whether it was 1956 or 1977 he never truly changed. That's what separates the 'part-time fans' from the ones who truly 'get him.' A 'fan' perceives things differently eliminating all the levels and layers...shallow. The ones who legitimately 'get him' see the transitions knowing full well all or most of the inner workings both personally and professionally and simply see the same Elvis continuing to progress and evolve. The more you know the more it all starts to make sense. With Elvis, forget what you think you know and with no bias find out for yourself. PEACE!

I absolutely loved the black leather look; but it was obviously very HOT! And, Sweetheart, you are right, he had MAGIC coming from his eyes, ears, fingers, legs, and the sound that came from his beautiful mouth was magic, too! I was fortunate enough to witness his talent ( with NO auto-tune ), his CHARISMA, and his ability to control a crowd with the movements of his body! For these reasons and many more, he will never be challenged by any other entertainer; EVER, for me at least! He was so well put together...in every way possible; musically, entertainment wise and that glorious CHARISMA! How could he NOT be almost perfect? He was the KING OF ROCK and ROLL, a well deserved title! I adored him and still do! Most people who have had the opportunity to actually get to know him in a major way, and his talent through his music and the Media; which tracked him down "like a houndog"! lol Of all of his outfits, the white jumpsuit that had the long, white tassels hanging from his arms and legs and maybe even on the front of his costume was my favorite outfit, by far! It was open in the chest area...I simply loved the way he looked and moved in it! He was slim when he wore this style. BUT, Let's face it, he looked fantastic in EVERYTHING that he put on his body! My least favorite outfits were the jumpsuits that had the CAPES! I didn't like them and I am certain that he added the capes to try to hide his weight gain. He still didn't know that his true fans loved him NO MATTER what he was wearing or even how much weight he had put on! For goodness sake, he was ELVIS PRESLEY! My favorite hairstyle was one that he wore in the 1960's! I have seen many pictures of him with it and he usually had on a turtleneck, which only added to his omniance! It was a great look for him! It was almost short in the back, but the front was brushed upwards and almost folded up, which gave him a lot of volume! It was very, very sexy! He wore it extremely WELL! THANK YOU for all of your reactions! You two are quickly becoming my favorite reactors and I will look for you and watch everything that you have done! Great job, guys!!! You are SPECTACULAR!

I would say my favorite looks, of his, are this one, and the white jumpsuits---especially, the jumpsuit he wore in "Aloha from Hawaii", in '73, with the eagle on the back, because he designed that jumpsuit (he was super patriotic)!! Also, that outfit had a cape, that he put on, at the end of that concert, which I saw, live---it was the very first TV simulcast, around the world, and they raised a ton of money, for charity!!! ❤️

That part of the show was actually a recreation of a jam session that Elvis and the band were doing in the dressing room and the director overheard it and asked them to recreate it on stage. So nothing in it was actually planned. Ronnie Tutt, his drummer, said in an interview that Elvis was always doing random funny things during shows that made everyone, including himself, laugh. Especially adding or changing lyrics to songs. He would all the time think of different words for some of the songs while performing them and sing them out loud without anyone knowing he was gonna do it. Everyone who knew him said he had a hard time being serious. There is a 12 minute long video of bloopers from the 68 special that you can find on KZbin. You should check that out. You are also correct in saying that he never did completely get used to the reactions. There is a part in that video that shows one of his band mates stopping him from singing to get a piece of lint off his face and then handing it to one of the girls in the audience. Elvis grins and chuckles as he looks down at the ground almost embarrassed and said that they never cease to amaze him.

Yes, Elvis was very laid back and nonchalant if something went wrong during a song. Probably due to all the years performing in public since he was a teenager, and all those years in front of cameras making movies. He had experienced it all. Later, during his Las Vegas performances it was the same. Once he had problems with the mic and literally turned the situation into a comedy skit, and the audience loved it! Also, Suzie was right. Elvis never quite understood all the hysteria whenever he made the slightest move. True story: At one point during one of the songs in this video, one of the guitarists, Charlie saw a piece of lint on Elvis' cheek, reached over and removed it when a girl in the audience beside Elvis began to scream and opened her purse. Charlie placed that tiny piece of lint in her purse and more screams resulted from the audience. Elvis smiled and looked embarrassed, shook his head and said "It never ceases to amaze me, baby!" 😄

The words in this song are different here than the ordinal. The phrase one night I’ll be praying for, the one Elvis sings. The original was one night I’ll be praying for. Praying for was an indication of that there was an unwanted pregnancy from underage sex. They didn’t think that would resonate well with the audience. Hence predamage control. Especially when he was singing it quite early in his career.

He never got used to the reaction. Have you reacted to “Fever” from the Aloha special? It’s really evident in that performance, IMO.

** Did you know the 50’s generation was called The Silent Generation until Elvis came along and changed all that!! ** Did you know, how Elvis sweats a lot well with all the Gems and Stones they put on his outfits they weigh up to 75lbs like in the live Hawaii “73” satellite concert. I love the black leather outfit but also love the white eagle outfit he wore for 1973 live in Hawaii it’s so hard to pick just one!!!
