From what I understand, he's been workshopping this one in the club for a few years now and has apparently described it as "a Drake song if Drake could commit to a long-term relationship". 😂 I don't know anything about Drake, but that cracks me up!

Happy anniversary to you! 14 years, that's a big deal! The part where you're describing the little fights/talks as "love talk" is so true. Implicit in those moments is the promise that you will continue to be there to HAVE more moments with your partner. Especially the "you owe me a dumpling - I mean it - I won't forget." Means you're going to stick around to collect that dumpling (and have more fights, of course).

They've been together since 2013 but I believe 5 years was referring to how long they have lived together in that house! This was recorded and made at the same time as his Inside album so I believe 2020/2021

The thing you're talking about with kids we got our kids used to the house being loud and active very early on so now we could be yelling in the hallway outside the room while they're asleep and it doesn't fuck with them not one bit. I do disagree a bit with the idea that these outakes should be in the album. when you look at the special as a whole its pretty easy to understand why they didnt make it. A handful are a lot of voices layering on each other which comes off as more confusing and chaotic than methodically existential and deep. the rest seem to contradict the theme that the special had. the chicken for example felt too on the nose with its "deep" theme, while also kinda poking fun at you for expecting something deeper and hitting you with a simple "chicken crossed the road". great subversion of expectation and a deep message hidden behind comedy; very bo. unfortunately in the context of "inside" I think the subversion of expectation in that song wouldve clouded the message(s) of the special. very good content worth releasing though so im SUPER glad he released these outtakes.
