The Midnight Special was a music variety show that ran throughout most of the 1970s, they had some of the greatest music acts of the day on every week. Definitely worth a deep dive into the archives of the show.

Thanks for this great reaction to this song! I love this song and it is my fav song Stevie sings. I grew up with their music and this song is so special to me. It was so special in fact that I named my little girl Rhiannon Dee after the legend of the witch on the river Dee in Wales near where my husband lived and worked for some time. Sadly I lost my baby girl to miscarriage and never had any children. This song is so absolutely amazing.

She wrote the song. And the camera is on her for a reason. She is telling the story. Theres also nothing today that matches the genius skills and talents of that decade or others before it. The sound isnt great in this particular video. Others have her voice clearly heard at the end. And she is fine where she is at the end. She doesnt need to be on her feet. I bet youve told Mick Jagger a thing or two.

Midnight Special was on Fridays at Midnight. Hosted by the king of the DJs, Wolfman Jack! Bands came on to promote their new albums. The cool thing about it was it was all live, you got between 4-5 minutes and no lip synching. Had all the best bands on - you could probably go down a bit of a rabbit hole, just watching some old episodes. Perhaps I could suggest watching the episode with Hocus Pocus, by Focus?

Cool Reaction. Fleetwood Mac's 3 lead vocalists are each so unique and good. Stevie has a really good stage presence. According to their 2014 autobiography... Mick, John and Christine auditioned guitarist Lindsay Buckingham and immediately loved his Blue Grass style. They had no interest in Stevie Nicks. Lindsay & Stevie were a couple, at the time, and Lindsay said he and Stevie were a package deal. They were both hired and a few months later, Lindsay broke up with Stevie, and they both remained in the band.

You might want to do the Rumours album track by track. All of the songs go together thematically. Stevie and Lindsey (guitar/vocals) had broken up. Christine (keyboard/vocals) had just divorced John (bass). Songs are about love lost, pain, and some optimism looking forward. But when you listen to each one knowing what these people singing and performing had gone through with each other, it really does amplify the songs. People used to say Taylor Swift would go out with someone so she could write an album about them. Stevie made Lindsay perform her songs about him on stage for 40 years (and vice versa).

Great performance. I was 12 when this aired and it blew our minds. All three lead singers had big songs charting from this album starting in 1975. Then the year after this single came out Rumours hit when I was in junior high school and Fleetwood Mac was cemented as one of the biggest rock bands of the day. Great band. I loved them. Mirage came out my senior year just after Lindsay and Stevies solo albums. And I loved that album. Super talented people who play great together.

This performance made Stevie a star overnight! Fleetwood Mac inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Stevie later on also inducted for her prolific songwriting! She went onto have an amazingly successful solo career and is considered a Rock Goddess by many and continues to play with Fleetwood Mac, as well!

Christine has her own, cozy, unique singing and playing style that's worth listening to, for example, "Over My Head", "Think About Me", "Don't Stop", "Brown Eyes", "Oh Daddy" , etc. Hope you have a chance to to check Christine McVie's songs out. FYI: The Rolling Stones and Rolling Stone Magazine are two completely different entities and not related to each other aside from sharing the same name minus "The" and "Stones" vs. "Stone" in the names. One is an iconic godfather of modern rock and roll blues based band from England (1962 - present) and the other is a music industry publication from San Francisco launched in 1967.

Stevie has such a unique voice that is instantly recognizable. She doesn’t have the power of an Ann Wilson (Heart) or Joan Jet, Pat Benatar...but her uniqueness puts her up there with the best. Christine McVie also has a good voice & she & Stevie harmonize well together. They have a large worm hole for you to fall down. Their Rumors album is great as a complete album listen. It’s ranked as one of the top albums of the era. It was made as Christine & John McVie (bassist) were divorcing & Stevie & Lindsay Buckingham (guitarist, vocalist, songwriter) were breaking up & Stevie had an affair with drummer Mick Fleetwood.....they had a lot of emotions to put into song & Rumors was the result 🤯🤯

I’ve heard Pat Benetar and Ann Wilson live in small venues in the last 6-7 years. Saw Pat twice and it was great both times. Her husband Neil is a criminally underrated guitarist. As great as she was she couldn’t touch Ann as far as power. Ann’s voice just fills up a room so so much. Saw Fleetwood Mac with Christine at a large arena and they sounded great as well. Only problem was I was so far away the big video screens looked this phone I’m on now lol.

Oh wow, I could barely stay awake until midnight to watch this show, basically a concert with different acts. 👍🏽 Seen her do this twice and saw her solo while still a part of FM on her Bella Donna tour!! 😜 Check out "Edge of Seventeen" or "Stand Back," adore her duet with Tom Petty "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" for some opts. Dive deeply into FM. One special or unique quality is diversity, while Stevie may lead a majority, don't discount Lindsey or Christine-in the side by side on keyboards. She's 2 beautiful songs showcasing her vocals, "Songbird" and "Oh Daddy" and Lindsey is all over on popular ones too, "Go Your Own Way," "Second Hand News" and seriously underrated guitarist, he can pick like no other!! SEEN IT!! 😁 I really believe Rumours is worthy of a listen from beginning to end, stellar album. ❤👍🏽 P.S. There is another vid on YT of an even crazier Stevie ending you can check out on your own. 👍🏽

Intelligence. Imagination and meaning that carries value and wisdom. An underpining of authenticity depth and knowledge that supports human progression. Its a force, an energy that wakes you up to the possibilities of the human spirit in its journey toward remembrance of its higher consciousness. "The Seventies" was an evolution, in music. For the most part, No Grunge, No Glam Metal, No Speed Metal, No Rap and NO AUTOTUNE. Thes bands worked HARD to produce music. This was just "Classic Rock". After Beatles/Jimi Hendrix era Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Rolling Stones moved us into the 70's. Fleetwood Mac, Rush, Van Halen and MANY more thrived in the later 70's and passed on the evolution to the 80's. Rock On! Great Work Salvo!

Me and my friends use to ride around all the time listening to this group, the creativity of these groups was because it was new they where at the beginning of rock it went down hill when corporations started directing music, then auto tune and other things came along to fake music and talent especially here in the USA also drugs destroyed much talent you have to look outside USA for real music anymore and that is sad 😔 I miss those days so when you say you want to hear the recording instead of live are you getting the real stuff or auto tune God bless

Stevie is a treasure and outstanding singer/songwriter and for me the best female vocalist of the rock world. You should also listen to the studio recording of Rhiannon, it's a bit slower than this live recording along with the live performance from "The Dance" tour in 1997, Stevie just got better with age, kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKuypIR3gtmjo5I and don't miss "Silver Springs" from the same tour, saw them do it live on this tour at MSG, incredible night!. The interaction/tension between her & Lindsay throughout the concert kept us all on the edge of our seats (go watch anything from "The Dance", the entire concert was epic, recorded and was later released as a concert movie). kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnzUqa2ua9l-n9E

The introduction of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks into Fleetwood Mac sent that band into the stratosphere. I'm still more of a fan of the studio albums Then there live performances. Not to Say that there are amazing live performances of so many of their songs. Landslide comes to mind. That is one of the most beautiful songs Stevie has ever put out.
