My favorite Sinatra anecdote is, He was getting his car from a valet or something, and he asked the guy, "what's the biggest tip you've ever gotten before?" And the valet responds "one hundred dollars, sir". Frankie then hands over $200 and asks, " who gave you that $100?" And the valet says "you did, sir"

Guinea Dago Figaro is a parody of Bohemian Rhapsody's "Galileo, Galieo, Figaro" - they even duplicated the scene in the video, except just with Frank and Freddie in this one. In the original, it was all 4 members of Queen. As others have said, Dago was a racial slur for Italian Americans back in the day.

Americans with talent or fame alsoo served. They provided a much needed morale boost to fighting soldiers. Glenn Miller, Marylin Monroe, Bob Hope, Elvis Presley Frank Sinatra among many others weren't enlisted and sent off to boot camp. Instead they joined the USO which to this day, continues to entertain troops abroad. Frank Sinatra had many friends. Some of them were connected to Mafia crime organizations. He was just a friend, not a member, Kind of like a concierge, He'd accommodate his friends with hotel rooms, tickets to shows in Vegas, nice cars etc. He was never involved in illegal Mafia activities but he knew people that did things such as money laundering, embezzlement,, bribery, kidnapping, contract killing etc. And his being the friend he was he chose not to rat them out. This might be why he and four other popular entertainer friends of his metaphorically or sarcastically became known as the rat pack.

He also OVER NIGHT ended segregation in Vegas by saying that he won't perform at any venue that wouldn't hire his friend, Sammy Davies. Who btw. also was bisexual. ANd about him making fun of Freddie's sexuality... Sinatra's line "We all like to swing, but you took it to far!" can easily be interpreted be that he thinks that Freddie just completely overdid it. Frank makes politically incorrect jokes... Freddie tosses out the slurs.

I have a story related to Frank Sinatra. My grandmother worked as a seamstress and one of her coworkers was Frank Sinatras's mom. This was back when he was singing at restaurants for tips. According to my GM his mom would always brag about him and his singing. One day my GM couldn't take it and snapped and basically told Frank's mom to sthfu and do your dam job and stop talking about your son's singing because he wont amount to anything. After he recorded his first song my GM quit that job.

This might be my favorite reaction you've done. I'd also like to say good on you for not being up on dego being a slur. Less slurs in this world is a good thing. The way I learned about the word dego was, I don't know, funny, messed up, naive, I'm not sure how to classify it. My dad was a tile setter most my life. He worked for an Italian guy for years who he and all his friends and coworkers called Dego. I just assumed that was his nickname. I knew his real name as well but since I'd heard him referenced as Dego everytime they spoke of him I thought he would've been aware of it as well. Fast forward to me being 23 years old, I'm home on emergency leave from the Air Force at my grandfather's funeral and I get introduced to "Dego". I'm introduced to him by his regular name and it hits me "oh, this is Dego" which is exactly what I said outloud. After we meet my dad pulls me to the side and tells me none of them actually called him that to the man's face. I assume because it was my grandfather's funeral he let it slide but I was mortified because up to that moment, like you, I had no idea that was a slur, I just thought it was his nickname. They always spoke highly of the man, it never crossed my mind that the word dego was something bad. I still feel terrible about that. On a lighter note I did work with a guy all the Mexicans I worked with called Feo. Didn't know what that meant either so one day I ask the guy "hey man, how'd you get the nickname Feo?" And without .issuing a beat he says "Feo means ugly in Mexican" and just goes on like it was no big deal. It's funny because he was ugly man, ugly as shit. I couldn't contain my laughter but he was a good sport about it and thought it was funny too. Two lessons right there why we should all be cool getting with folks of other cultures, you never know what you'll learn.

Guinea and Dago were both Italian slurs. Freddy took it. Even though his second round was weaker, but one of the best aspects of it is a double-take on Frank. "You can kiss my ass, Frankie, but you'll have to wait in line." Sinatra absolutely HATED waiting in line. Cut in line, paid people off, did everything he could so that he didn't have to do that. Frank also made the point that Freddy caught AIDS, but not only did Freddy go, "yeah, so?" as a response, he turned around and told Sinatra to kiss the ass he spent the whole rap talking about.

Today, if you start singing a Queen song around other people, someone is going to know the words and join you. You can't really say that about Sinatra. Hell, I'm pushing 50 and the only song I remember him singing was 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.' And that's only because it was overplayed at a job I worked in the last decade. Ol' Frank didn't really have much staying power because, well, he sang other people's songs. Freddie, however, is heralded as one of the best songwriters that ever drew breath. I was exposed to both growing up. Mom grew up in Sinatra's era, but she developed a taste for Queen's music as the band started their meteoric rise. I can say, definitively, that she was more of a fan of Queen... and so am I.

The "butthole roulette" wasn't the only low-tier comment to Freddie's sexual orientation. The comment of bicycle without seat and Uranus were also bad taste references to gays. As a teen my gay cousin heard that "___ without seat" one a lot hurled at him by homophobes thinking they were insulting him. He told me that he refuses to be insulted since he's ignoring them adn doesn't want to feed their behavior. Making three swings at one topic (being gay) is why Sinatra fell flat. And that ending showed Freddie was the Champion.

This is a rap BATTLE after all. And in rap battles, it’s not uncommon for people to get disrespectful. I think frank maybe may have won because his punchlines hit harder, more shock value. He chose a topic and stayed true to the course. If Freddie won cause simply cause of the people who are uncomfortable/hated Franks choice of attack. Making Freddie the default choice. But if both of them was really battling, on a live stage, in an actual rap battle. Frank would have taken this. And I’m just looking at this from a battle rap perspective.
