I believe the term you use for the technique on that opening riff is called "tapping" where they are tapping on the fret. I'm no expert but I think that is what it is. As far as the theme of the video you won't believe it, lol... It's about being a vegan. The powder on the woman is Flour. They are saying, eating meat is like eating another human being or animal. Then they are floating upwards due to the ascension process when choosing a new spiritual path. Look at the lyrics "no other blood in me but mine". So, anything that bleeds shouldn't be eaten according to that philosophy. There is more to it but you get the gist of it.

Always a good time with Gojira! That melodic riff near the beginning, I THINK that's done by tapping, so it gets a different (softer) attack to it rather than being strummed or plucked. Basically you can just slam your finger down real hard on any fret and it will vibrate the string enough to be heard, that's tapping and it's 100% technique

You're 100% correct. Tapped way up the neck on the low E string. It's pretty simple to play but feels real good when you get it.

These copyright claims are getting out of control lol. I wonder if they caught a section that uses a similar note pattern/scale as a RHCP song and just kinda automatically slapped a claim on it. That solo though. I ran that back about half a dozen times on my first listen of the song haha. The drums leading up to and during the solo (and throughout the entire song, really) is so damn sick. I really can't get enough of this band lol. Great breakdown and reaction as always. Not an official request, but you should check out some of the newer songs by Muse. I think you've done a reaction to their song Knights of Cydonia if I rememeber right. If I had to make a recommendation I'd say any of either Madness, Animals, Dead Inside, or Pressure are great choices. I think you'd enjoy any of them, all for different reasons.

The way I interpret this video is that we're wasting stuff. Wasting water (showering with plastic on), wasting food (get's powder dropper on her), wasting oil (literally putting is head in it as if that's all people care about these days). Dead bodies from the sky I think means birds dying. The scenes with the guy and their phones I think means that we're focused on our screens too much.
