As a biker and fast car driver, 500 whp Evo 6, and one that doesn't hang about, my reaction to this is they both need locking up. Absolute disregard for civy road user safety is lunacy. Bikers know that even the slightest debris on the road can take you out, and at those speeds you can't even see what might be lurking in you path. That was literally a split second away from tragedy for either one of them, both of them, or worse, a third party. You wanna drive like that, get on a track and that Pork driver would have found he wasn't so good as he thinks. The R1 rider seemed to have decent skill, so maybe a track day vet, but still, on the road you cannot predict what is going to happen. I've lost biker friends in less dangerous situations, and some have survived but are wheelchair users for life, and worse. Take my advice guys, keep it safe out there, the consequences of this type of sh1t aint worth it.

Even if the two main characters DID have skill levels that would make the speeds manageable, the vast majority of the other road users in this clip don’t. The aftermath of any collision in this video would be life changing for several people. Although the bike hung back ( relatively- we’re talking a gradation of lunacy here) his participation definitely pushed the Porchshe guy on. Do you know what's fascinating? This Porsche is still on the road today. The earliest MOT on record is in 2005, when it had 74k miles on it. Since then, it has only been driven 30k miles, and currently sits at 106k miles as of June 2022. For the past few years, it has been barely driven, averaging only around a hundredish miles per year. It's incredible to think about how much this car has been through, and yet it's still road-legal and well-maintained after 29 years since it was made in 1994.

One summer's evening, at the turn of the Millennium, riding from York back to Hull, I came upon a TVR Tuscan. The roads were empty. The light was good. He decided to have a little tickle and put his foot down. I was on a new 2000 R6 and decided, yeah, I'll have some of that. So off we went. He wasn't in the fastest car in the world and I wasn't on the fastest bike, but we had a good 15 minutes of highly questionable fun. It wasn't racing. I didn't try to overtake, but I sure as hell wasn't going to let him gap me. When we finally parted ways at the roundabout at the end of the universe, we drew alongside each other, grinned the biggest grins and waved our goodbyes. We had both lived a little extra that night and I will never forget it.

I was visiting a friend in hospital years ago, and this guy in his late 20's was brought to the ward. He kept to himself and was stuck in bed with ropes and counter weights after a 'bike crash several days before (been in intensive care up till then i imagine). The doctors had a quiet chat with him the next day, then left. He then spent quite a while crying afterwards. Turns out he was paralized and they had just given him the news about his future lifestyle. The ward was for serious injuries and illnesses, but until then he hadn't taken it in. So much for being a 'hero' biker. I'm a biker of many years (owned a 'bike for over 40 years and still do) but watching this video just reminds me of the stuff i NEVER did like that in my day. That porsch driver especially needs a good smacking. Maybe he's dead by now, who knows.

I had a similar experience. I unfortunately was in a hospital bed after having been in an accident on my Ducati 998 with "White Van Man" who had given no warning and pulled out into the outside lane on a duel carriageway doing 40 mph while I approached him at around 120. Needless to say, I ran smack into the back of him. Recovering in hospital now minus the use of my right arm due to nerve damage not to mention all the other carnage my body had suffered, there was a chap in a bed opposite who was in a plaster cast waistcoat contraption. Seemingly he was also a van driver but unfortunately for him, he was T-Boned by a car driven by a joy rider who had stolen the car. He also received a visit from the surgeon with the bad news that he was permanently paralyzed from the neck down. The poor chap (young lad) cried all night long.

While I confess as an ex car racer I have had a few tussles with fast riders on relatively deserted and well sighted country roads - it is easy to get sucked in, to me this is just playing with your life but also those of others too. I don't care how good a rider or driver you might be, at those speeds one small unseen variable ( ie all the other road users ) will result in almost certain fatalities. The biker was no better, tucked up behind at 140 mph plus - Porsche brakes are very effective.

I’ve done it a couple of times and one didn’t end well, 40 years ago I crashed at 100 mph racing some bikes and a couple of cars on a public road and I took one risk to many, had to avoid an oncoming car and left the road. @@garethjohnstone8662 your not that kind of fool then, great to hear... sadly many people do have crashes like this and will happily put themselves in danger for a pay out... you really should look up insurance claims... working for insurance brokers in personal insurance I see this alot.... and the court cases would make you question if they are human or not... sadly many people are poor enough to do this... even if they drive... You will even find many people in the uk purposely hurting themselves to get a claim or help... the uk in many town and city's are borderline 3rd world due to how the system works... So yes as genuinely sad as it is for me to say people will and do regularly put themselves in harms way like in this instance to have a easy claim... and yes many do go out driving looking for such opportunities.... so very sad but also very true...

Very rarely do you see either a Superbike or Car being driven like that and for such a long distance. Sometimes you might see them racing between 2 roundabouts but never over what, 5 plus miles. Even back in early 2000's it was too big a risk and both would have lost their licences instantly. Great footage though and I'm sure the R1 had plenty more 'in the tank'.

Thing is... The bikers are aggravating the situation. The more they follow the Porsche driver, the more the Porsche driver is going to pull stupid maneuvers like the 106 and dangerously high speeds around traffic like that. It takes just one driver to turn, brake, or swerve in the wrong direction and that's it. and with the R1 being so close behind at times as he was, he'd come off worse. STUPID in ALL ACCOUNTS. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a seasoned 35 year (all weather) rider owning many bikes from 125s to ZX10, tuned RF900R on good rubber, and yes, admittedly, I have done some silly stuff in my time. And yeah, I too have had some 'Fun times' bratting down country lanes, or on dual carriage ways/motorways etc', but, VITALLY, when it was quiet, with a mate or two.... But this? This is beyond stupid. As soon as the R1 riders realised that the Porsche driver was getting dangerous, they SHOULD have backed off. Without the bikers behind him, kinda 'Egging him on' the Porsche driver would have more than likely relaxed and slowed down.... 🤔😒 What's worse is your commenting on this situ... "Yeah, that's it, lovely, on the back wheel" and "The R1's not even trying"... You're a berk. Bikers get a bad rep with actions like this, and you're just making it worse... Ha! and then you end the video with... "If you drive a fast car, PLEASE don't drive it that manner, there's a time and place for it"... Yeah I'm calling you out... You SHOULD have said for fast bikes too" 😠 Yeah, there is a time and place to 'Have a bit of fun' BUT... BE SAFE WITH IT and DON'T put anyone else in danger... 😎🇬🇧
